I am dismayed that so many preachers campaign for the Republicans from the pulpit. To me, they represent all that Jesus preached against. They are intolerant, pompous and legalistic. Jesus preached tolerance, humility and choice. Am I wrong?

But you'll have to make more of a case as to what amounts to "intolerant". There are a number of things Jesus found very intolerable, and was very vocal against those who practiced those things. It's not unreasonable to expect therefore that pastors should do the same thing as stewards and citizens when they see things that run contrary to what they sincerely believe as pastors.

As far as arrogance and legalism, I can't speak much for the merits of one's excessive pride... but it just seems to me a natural consequence of getting involved in matters of public policy that you do speak in terms of law and order... But that doesn't make you a pharisee. Pharisees were shown to be wrong in legalizing spiritual pathways to God, but it is a mistake to think that therefore Christians have no responsibility over the governing of their own communities.

Because the Republicans stand for truth and what's morally correct, and the Bible clearly expalins those priniciples.

Actually, the Pharisees were trying to trick Jesus into making silly statements, but Jesus always had the right answers, and actually rebuked the Pharisees for doing so. The Pharisees were the ones that added laws to the Bible making themselves look good, but corrupt the Word of God and make it sound legalistic. So the Pharisees were in the wrong.

As for the tax collectors, publicans, etc., Jesus and his disciples actually had dinner and had compassion for those people, according to the Book of Matthew, Blessed are the poor in spirit...

So I suggest you do some research before making such comments.

God Bless You.

Yes, you are wrong. Apparently the preachers that campaign from the pulpit for Democrat candidates are ok?

And Jesus did not preach tolerance. In fact, God is incredibly intolerant when it comes to sin.

The Pharisees have been the previous day conservatives, yet they may well be greater like the conservatives of like fifty years in the past. like the Rockefeller Republicans, not the Reagan Republicans. and that i don't undergo in techniques any point out of the pharisees in the previous testomony. yet it rather is superb, that's amazingly person-friendly for liberals to not be attentive to what the hell they are conversing approximately while it consists of the Bible. The pharisees have been those consistently attempting to seize Jesus and have been the main threatened via HIS presence.

Many Christians will not vote for any pro-choice candidate or party, infact if you are pro-choice you are the enemy and working with Satan. Jesus was also against going to church and organized religion, but everyone still flocks to mass on Sunday. Its all nonsense, I believe in God and Jesus, but to tell people who have lived righteous and upright existences that they cannot go to heaven is just ridiculous. I agree with you that first of all he was 'the prince of peace', and taking any stand other than a peaceful one is not doing his will, which a lot of these so called Christians are currently doing. Saying youre a Christian and a warrior is an oxymoron, for Jesus was everything except a warrior.

You are wrong about preachers campaigning from behind the pulpit. The Republicans aren't perfect, but they are pro life, pro traditional family and many are Christians.

Jesus preached choice? What do you mean by that?
He preached that we all have a choice, and the right choice is Jesus.

Having said that, let me add that you don't have to be a Republican to get into heaven.

Republicans are the true Christians. If Jesus were alive today he would be a Bush supporter and support our president in his holy wars in Iraq and Afganistan. Jesus was not a liberal wimp democrat. He said to bring non-believers before him and slay them. He also told his disciples to sell their cloak and buy a sword. Jesus was anti-abortion, pro military and anti gun control and Jesus hated homosexuals.

They do remind you of the pharisees who robbed from the poor to give to the rich. They were rich money lovers the bible says.
They was deep into politics and Jesus said my kingdom is a heavenly kingdom and not eartly.
they are for Big Business and Religion is big business.
some things suprised me they were against abortion, more abortions happened under this administration.
they ran against gay marriage, but some were gay and now they are saying we like gays. Then why couldn't they get married?
the whole thing is just crazy.

Many Christians oppose abortion and value morals. Most Democrats are progressivists and support science, and research. As you know, almost all Christians oppose the evolution theory. If you listen to Republican speeches, many of them are about moral values. Christians are able to connect. One thing that I find paradoxical is that some people that claim to be pro-life support the death penalty.
