That's like saying why is black a color AND a race... granted I've got friends with skin so dark it's almost purple but "black" I don't think it's possible for anyone's skin to be black, yellow etc.
I think my skin looks the color of wheat toast!

Why is black a color and a race? My skin is light tan and i'm considered black? There labels and really stupid ones at that. Now I actually do know some white and black people though....or people very close to the colors lmao.

Same thing I've been raving about when people say black. These colloquial words black and white aren't even accurately describing skin color if you ask me. And the only race I subscribe to is human. Culturally I may be Afro-American but I am first a human white my own personal thoughts, feelings and beliefs.
I wish people would look at each other as individuals first and not as nameless faces belong to a stereotypical group.

White is not a color, neither is black. Look it up.
My skin has an orange tint that goes with the red hair and green eyes, all colors, but not white and black.
Where did your question come from?

The same can be said about "black" people. Their skin is not the color of my paten leather shoes(most are brown) actually and factually...."black" people come in 32+ shades of brown and "white people come in 12+. Look it up....it's true. Who ever came up with the classifying of human ethnicity was an idiot. And I believe America is the only country that calls you "white" and them "black".

There are thousands of shades of white my friend, I have white skin with brown spots....what do you think of that? Would a rainbow be just as beautiful without the MANY COLORS?

Its not meant as a literal term, its a term of art. You cant really describe a race by ALL its traits, so one was picked that was seemingly most obvious to people.
Likewise there are no Blacks literally black as coal, and East Asians are not really terribly yellow

Nope, not white like paper is it? Just like blacks are not black. Skin color is a socially constucted category- ignore it- it means nothing unless you make it something.

African Americans are considered "black"...(their choice) since their skin is not white, they didn't like to be called colored any more, they chose the term black, then African American.
Whites, as you call yourself, are Caucasian
We all belong to the human race
It is ( racist ) to talk down to or about a certain ethnic group, weather they are white, black, japanese, chinese, Indian, ,etc...
