Sure. Have a bottle of lysol, a putty knife, and some old rags on hand in case you need to clean brains off the wall.

Woah...

Just because your Dad gave you one doesn't mean it's a good idea.

I can just see it now...your son showing the gun to friends and Oops a slip of the finger, y'know what I mean?

Eleven is way too young in my opinion. Does he even have any knowledge about guns? Do you live in such a hostile area that a gun is really needed?

Kids will be kids and the kids of today are a lot different then when you were that age. This just sounds like an accident waiting to happen.

I learned to shoot when i was six years old. I got my first gun when i was 13(hunting rifle). It's not about age. It's about being responsible enough to know what a firearm can do. Have you let your son shoot any? Does he know how to handle a firearm safely? I would trust a responsible 11 year old with a gun before some 30 year olds i've met!

Each child is different. maybe you were mature enough, but I don't think I would give a child under 16 a gun. Even then I would take him to a gun safety class and teach him how to shoot.

That is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard of! What does he need protection from, the monsters under his bed?

No wait till he is 12. And even then probably only one of those little girly guns like a .22 or .25.

Yeah give him one then he will take it to school and accidentallly shoot someone. You must be American, Red neck? Do not give an eleven year old a hand gun that is criminal neglegence. Grow a brain and lock your house up.

If your neighborhood is that bad ,that an 11 year old needs a gun ,
I suggest you MOVE to a better place.

At eleven he probably doesn't have the physical bulk to control a man-sized handgun.

Better you should start teaching him how to hit a target and how to use a gun. And how NOT to.

And what happens when he gets into a screaming argument with you and wants to prove a point at the end of a gun?
