I live at apartment complex. I was watching another tenant cleaning an area belonging to another tenant. A statment was made was why is everyone staring at us we're just cleaning. I was not thinking really anything. Just watching them cleaning.

How does the prayer go? I've been saying the same prayer since childhood: "God is great. God is good. We thank you for this food. Amen." Every now and then I say something different. But as a mature christian, I think I shoud learn to pray better than that when giving grace.

I'm of the belief that if your home has more culture and religious practices in it, that teenagers will be too busy playing the piano, horseback riding, studying foreign languages, to even think about it, let alone want it. My daughter says I'm naive, and my 16 yr old g'daughter has a boyfriend who "lays" with her in her bedroom, right under my daughter's nose...and she says she HAS to allow it, or else they will find another way. I just don't believe this way has to be ... at all. What do you all think?
Am I being 'stuffy' and naive? Of course I wouldn't opinionize to her or them, but I just want to know what the more of society thinks, so I'm putting it up to the group here to tell me what society is about in 2006.

Now support your lie by explaining why he allows children to die in agony. Why does he allow children to be abused for years on end? Why does he allow all other kinds of suffering?

Why does he want us to worship him. Is this woman who put us here such an egotist that she wants us to say "thank you" for this precarious position she has put us in?

were Greek in origin being that the original Scripture this was taken from was in Greek (the Septuagint). An answerer said that this was also used in the Anglican and the Lutheran Church as well. My question is that if this part of the Septuagint was used for the Anglican and the Lutheran services why did they throw the rest of the Septuagint out that contained the seven books that the Catholics use? as most christians know, in the old testament, God was a vengeful and wrathful God. We also know that in the new testament through the sacrifice of his son, he became the loving and benevolent God....If God is all knowing, all powerful.....how is it that he changed? He couldn't have learned compassion because he is all-knowing......He also can't really change because he says that he is the constant....the alpha and omega, beginning and end...So if our God 'changed' would that disprove him to be all-knowing??? this question was presented to me and I'm just curious to see the response of others
