I can only speak on behalf of myself.
I've done some pretty crappy things and i've asked for forgiveness...
And i get scared from time to time that maybe i'm just not sorry enough
But then i realize that i FEEL forgiven to a great extent.
It doesn't occupy my head all the time like it used to, i feel liberated...
It's just this silent calm within me...
So i guess that could be a sign.
Plus, i don't think God would want you to burden yourself constantly with your past. Especially if you've learned. I think that's the most important part. Learning from your mistakes.

Do you believe in God? Let's say you do. You have not seen God and you believe God exists.
Believe that you have received...
If you ask for forgiveness, believe that you have been forgiven. You do not have to see a proof, you just have to know God has already forgiven you, even before you ever asked for forgiveness.

It says so in the Bible and it is a matter of faith. See Matt 9:2-6; 26:26-29; Luke 7:36-48; Acts 2:38; Eph 4:32; Col 1:13-14; 3:13. See also Ps 51:1; Isa 43:25.

God does say confess your sins and you will be forgiven. Its called faith. I know sometimes i've expected a feeling of forgiveness. though we shouldn't. By faith say to yourself yes i am forgiven and move on. it's can sometimes be hard. Alot of the time the Enemy (satan) will put on your mind that your not forgiven and he is the Father of all Lies. So believe the opposite, Jesus the Truth and know that your are a forgiven child of God.
Amen. that was a good question

If you have truly believed and trusted that the Lord Jesus Christ died for you sin then you are forgiven. When He was buried He took your sins away and He rose again the third day so you can stand just before God. He forgive you all your sins past, present and future when you believed. He not inputting your sins to your account. 2 Corinthians 5: 19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, "not imputing their trespasses unto them" and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

Believing that the Lord Jesus Christ came and died for our sins will give you forgivness,, for God so Loved the world that he gave his only begotten SON and he who believes shall never die... when asking for forgivness ask and change don't abuse the power of forgivness from God... The only way to Heaven is through the Lord Jesus you must believe that he came and died for our sins. Luv Kitty,..

when you ask got for forgiveness and mean it and didn't premeditate, like "oh, I'll go to this party and tell my parents I'm going to Sarah's (LIE) and get laid (SEX OUT OF MARRIAGE) then ask for forgiveness after" then you should be fine, if you premeditate your forgiveness then your in trouble.
you may feel a burden life off you, personally, I have chest pains, but when ever I'm being prayed for or when ever I ask for forgiveness (best to ask daily, you never know ... LOL) I feel the pain go away.
other wise I'm sure you've been forgiven as long as you've asked for it.

To believe answers that question for you! Why do you think people call us believers! That is how we know we simple believe the truth we have received. When you believe you accept it and you continue to accept it until the day you go home to be with the Lord! God told me once thru prophecy in a prayer meeting that He was able to keep that which I have committed to Him against that day. To believe is to receive.
