Matt.6:7..."When praying,do not say the same things over and over
again,just as the people of the nations do,for they imagine they will
get a hearing for their use of many words. And verse 9;is called the
model prayer or Lords prayer,Jesus says this;"YOU must pray,then,
this way;Our Father in the heavens,let your NAME be sanctified."
What does that mean?(Or Hallowed in the K.J.)That means to make known to all.....Isaiah.42:8."I am Jehovah.That is my name;
and to no one else shall I give my glory,neither my praise to
graven images."At John 14:6....Jesus said to him;" I am the way
and the truth and the life,no one comes to the Father except
through me.".So their are definately things that God expects and
wants of his earthly children when they approach him in prayer..

Yes. At times when words can not flow freely, or at moments when grief is overbearing, these rote prayers if prayed sincerely can be the words needed for consolation,petition, and adoration.

Praying is an art that must be nurtured.

God hears all prayers. I personally am not a fan of rote prayers though because they are someone else's words and I would rather tell God what I am thinking.

I personally think the impromptu prayers would be the best as they come from the heart. When I prayed I always just talked. I do the same with my spirit guide. A conversation.

I believe that God always knows what's in our hearts so the words we say are not as important as the feelings behind them.

Sometimes it's difficult to start praying. I find that if I start by saying the "Our Father" I'm able to get myself in a prayerful state and keep going from there.
