Correct me if I'm wrong, but this is the UK & Ireland site, yeah? I'm tired of seeing UK askers getting "Try Wal-Mart" and "What State are you in..?" type answers.

Can't they just click on the stars and stripes at the bottom of the page and go back to where they came from?

I am stepping out on a limb here, I got chewed up for asking if you changed the clocks back. But, I was just interested to see how some of you felt about her situation. I know how many Americans feel about it, frankly I don't really have much of an opinion on it one way or the other. Yes I do, I think she "bought" the baby. Is he better off, probably so, thoughts please.

The royal we (Pluralis Majestatis) is the first-person plural pronoun when used by an important personage to refer to himself or herself. Its best known usage is by a monarch such as a king, queen, or pope. It is also used in certain formal contexts by bishops and university rectors.

In the public situations in which it is used, the monarch or other dignitary is typically speaking, not in his own proper person, but as leader of a nation or institution. Nevertheless, the habit of referring to leaders in the plural has influenced the grammar of several languages, in which plural forms tend to be perceived as deferential and more polite than singular forms. This grammatical feature is called a T-V distinction.

Popes used the we as part of their formal speech up until recent times. John Paul I was the first to dispense with this practice, instead using the singular I. John Paul II continued to use the singular.

If prayer would have been in the home, then we would not have the problem of prayer in school. People that want prayer in school are just trying to apese their concience and make it someone elses responsibility to teach their children to pray.

This question is not posed to harass or denegrate. I was raised in a home that religion was not a part of, I have studied on my own and have come to my own enlightenment. I was not brainwashed and did not attend any formal religious training other then my own research. Okay now you know me, so to speak. This question is informative only. Ignorance is only lack of knowledge. If you do not believe in a Higher Power, a Heaven or Hell, what happens when you die? Do you just cease to exist? Do you believe that you have a soul, or what people would call a soul? Do you believe that you are reincarnated? Do you go on to a different plain of existence or reality.

People of faith, as I have stated, I am a Christian that is firm in MY belief. Please do not use this question to debate the Truth as we believe it. It is intended for honest, open, non hostile information. Feel free to ask questions of your own but please keep it to the frame of reference that I have asked for.
Thank you very much

asalamwalaikum, Muslims name one Muslim, whether they be past or present, well known or in your personal life, that makes you proud to be a part of the Ummah of Islam. they is a lot of hate being spewed lately. inshallah we can balance that out a little bit by showing our pride in Islam and in the wonderful examples of Muslims all around us (all we ever seem to be able to talk about is Osamah and Sadam :(

I used my debit card to get $10.00 cash back and the guy hands me a $20 instead. I saw it was a $20 and didn't say anything, I was thinking "Awesome". I start walking away from the store and then start walking back to the store to correct this mistake. The guy was really greatful for what I did and he shook my hand. I felt so great for doing what was right. The thing that bugs me though, Why did I hesitate to do what I know was right?
