I am stepping out on a limb here, I got chewed up for asking if you changed the clocks back. But, I was just interested to see how some of you felt about her situation. I know how many Americans feel about it, frankly I don't really have much of an opinion on it one way or the other. Yes I do, I think she "bought" the baby. Is he better off, probably so, thoughts please.

The general concensus here is that if she wanted to help the children there she could have given money for medicine and an orphange with proper accomadtions. I know she gave 3 million to the orphanage, but what is that to Madonna, pocket change. Still, this one child will have all he needs in life.

Firstly, although, not over fond of Madonna I do feel sorry that some form of witch hunt has been going on but I understand why...these young children seem to be the latest fashion accessory for the famous and the rich....first it was little dogs in handbags, now it is poor kids...whatever next??? I feel that with the wealth she has and the fact that she has already been blessed with her own children, a better option would have been to donate money to this village so that they could all benefit from a better life.

It's difficult to know exactly what's going on. The publicity is ridiculous and it makes you wonder if this is partly a stunt to gain some front page time. On the other hand, that baby will grow up with food and clothes and he will be loved. The publicity may do favours for the village in Africa - and hopefully Madonna's money will be put to good use.

Madonna is not 'helping' poverty though. The answer is not to remove people from the situation - and throwing money at them is useless. These people need to be taught skills that will allow them to fend for themselves.

Overall, I'm on the fence really. Good news for the baby, but not much good for the rest of the African population. I sincerely hope Madonna was after a child not a story.

I don't understand why people have such a problem with it, sure she's got alot of money, but why ponder on how she got this little boy, why can't everyone see the positive, he's now not going to starve to death, he won't get aids, he can now breath property because he got treatment for his pneumonia, he'll have food to eat, he'll go to school and the orphanage he came from had millions of dollars donated to it. Yes it would be great if adopting children from poverty stricken countries was alot easier, but it's not. At least one little boy has been saved.

I think it was all fine, the babies father gave him up when he was just two weeks old, and he hasn't contacted him since, it took the charity weeks to track him down and now he's saying that he wants the boy back. I reckon Madonna has the best interests at heart, she wants to change the life of one little boy and why should we stop her? Besides, whats the point in having money and power if you don't use it?

Sure, that ONE baby is better off. Yes, she stole a baby. She could be so much more a humanitarian to pick the village that child came from and support it . She would hardly notice the money gone, but the village could improve conditions for many.

I would like to think that Madonna did this for all the right reasons, but why not spend some of her vast fortune to ensure that this child would be brought up in its own community in a safe and secure manner? I am sorry to say that I think she has done it for selfish reasons, she has enough money to help that whole community for a very long time

Lucky for just one baby, why not just put up an orphange so that you could actually help more lives.

I think it should be treated as any other adoption..The Father couldn't care for the Child, so he was adopted to be cared for by someone who could love and raise him with whatever he needs. Period!
