This question is not posed to harass or denegrate. I was raised in a home that religion was not a part of, I have studied on my own and have come to my own enlightenment. I was not brainwashed and did not attend any formal religious training other then my own research. Okay now you know me, so to speak. This question is informative only. Ignorance is only lack of knowledge. If you do not believe in a Higher Power, a Heaven or Hell, what happens when you die? Do you just cease to exist? Do you believe that you have a soul, or what people would call a soul? Do you believe that you are reincarnated? Do you go on to a different plain of existence or reality.

People of faith, as I have stated, I am a Christian that is firm in MY belief. Please do not use this question to debate the Truth as we believe it. It is intended for honest, open, non hostile information. Feel free to ask questions of your own but please keep it to the frame of reference that I have asked for.
Thank you very much

Just to clarify, I am referencing myself when I use the term ignorance, not anyone else. I use the term to make known that I seek answers so that I can be informed on a subject that I have a lack of knowledge of.

First let me say thank you to all that have answered me so far. I find that most of the answers have respected what I have asked for in my question. With this type of discussion much more is learned then when we are all yelling at each other so loudly that no one is heard.

Thank you, Kim

Gento Shamikka, Thank you for your answer and questions. I believe that Jesus died a Jew. I do not believe that His death and resurrection changed that fact. The name Christian was never used by Jesus, that was a name later given to people that believed a certain way by man. I am now getting away from what I myself have requested of this section, so please everyone forgive me and bear with me. I hope that you will feel free to email me. I have it listed so anyone can contact me. I guess some will say that I am stupid, but I do not believe in hiding behind an Avatar and will have open honest discussions with anyone that chooses to. Please email me so that I can answer your questions and not take away from what this question intended to accomplish. I have a good friend that is the Iman of the Mosque in Victoria, Texas. It may be hard to believe but I do not believe in exclusion. I say hard to believe because too many people believe in force feeding and not teaching or discussing.

Professor, I was severely molested and abused as a child. In fact one of the people tried to continue after the death of my grandmother when I was an adult. I have never and would never blame God or anyone else for someone else's crime or action. I was hoping that we could have open dialoges without one side or the other attacking the others beliefs. As you will note in my question, I specifically asked that people of faith, and by that I mean people that believe in God, not use this sections to promote their beliefs. I understand that you feel like I am an idiotic brainwashed imbicile that places my hopes in what you consider to be false. That I am wasting my time and energy on something that is false. I am not sure what in my question caused you to be angry with me that you felt the need to point out how stupid you thought I was. I did infact myself say that I was seeking knowledge on what you believed. I don't believe that I used insulting language but I could be wrong. Let me know.

I don't know what happens when we die, but I think that the existence of an afterlife is highly improbable. I'm a weak atheist. A weak atheist is someone who doesn't believe in the supernatural or a God, but that has an open mind and would believe if proof is found.

Death is final, your mind shuts off because your brain has ceased to be nourished by your blood. God did not create man but ancient man who created God. Neither the soul, heaven, hell, reincarnation, etc. can be proven. The only proof that religion has is that someone said so. They cannot prove that any of what they promise after you die exists. But all religions make promises and collect $3 billion a year in donations. They have perfected the art of blinding their followers from reality. Do you want to spend eternity with a God who has been calling pedophiles to the priesthood and never intervened to stop them from molesting children? A God who told both Israelis & Palestinians, "This (same) Land Is Yours" and they have been fighting and killing each other ever since. Take the religious blinders off and you will see that this God should not be worshiped but arrested.

what happens when you die? A: You just die. The lights go out. To me, it will be as if I had never been. That's how it was before I was born, that's how it will be after I die.

Do you just cease to exist? A: Yes.

Do you believe that you have a soul, or what people would call a soul? A: Absolutely not.

Do you believe that you are reincarnated? A: Absolutely not.

Do you go on to a different plain of existence or reality? A: No You just die. It's over. That's why we want to make the most of this brief life.

I do not feel in a better vigour on the grounds that I KNOW that the devout figures are without problems a mechanism to manage really unhealthy men and women, which so much men and women are, and lovely dull, so there can also be a few variety of order among the hundreds. It's all a mind wash. That is why I don't feel in a better vigour. on most sensible of it, the men and women who wrote those studies of "better" powers had been fully dull. their schooling degree was once so low, I'd believe what my puppy mouse could say over them.

When we die as the word suggests we are dead, game over . We only get one shot at life and this happens to be it, no reruns or after -life, not for anybody no matter how much wishful thinking and praying to gods you do...I find it reassuring, nobody can live forever and it's weird to want more than we have here...make the best of it.

i believe that we have energy, and it is all part of the universe. like the air in my house is part of thesame energy in every room. it is like when a bubble bursts, or a person dies, the air inside becomes part of the air in the house, or the energy in the universe. it is then used as available energy for new life. perhaps you can think of it as reincarnation
