I know this isn't the answer you were looking for, but whenever I heard the term Breeder's, I think of this band. =)
The Breeders are an American rock band, formed in 1988 as a side project for Kim Deal of Pixies and Tanya Donelly of Throwing Muses. After those original bands became less active, The Breeders became more important to both artists. A tape recording of their original demos with drummer Mickey Bones and violinist Carrie Bradley

Like most questions like this, some straight people get offended and some don't. Sometimes it depends on the context of the conversation in which the word is used, because sometimes people use it trying to be offensive - like how some people use f*g or dyk* - and sometimes they're not using it that way...

Language, and words, of themselves, have no impact or meaning.
Words inflict pain when INTENTION is applied, in context, to a persons behaviour.
BREEDING is the action of procreating life. Of itself, the term is not offensive. But in calling a straight person a BREEDER, you are debasing the act of making love to a clinical by-product of heterosexual sex, which you are denouncing as being insignificant, dirty or wrong.
So, yeah, the intention behind your use of the word 'breeder' is offensive to those who have, or intend on having, children.
I am a gay man but I have the capacity to be a father, should I want to 'breed'. I, am potentially, a 'breeder'.

Why would ANYONE be offended by the term breeder?
Unless farm animals were involved I suppose! In which case that would be some funky looking cattle...

I am bi but when I am with a girl and I get called a breeder that is just as bad as if a straight person called me a f*gg*t. In other words, straight people call gays *******, and gays call straight people breeders. We all should stop using those words.

as a woman who has given birth aka a "breeder" yeah I would find it offensive. although I am not "straight".
I am a mother, a wife, a goddess, a lover, a mistress, a woman.
why would we add yet another label to people when we do our best to shake off the labels now?

i guess it depends whether it bothers you to be labeled as someone who has no other purpose in life than to pro-create, if you feel like that's your purpose in life then you shouldn't be offended.
