In the bible it said "in the biginning the earth was without form and void" How can this be ? something cannot be without form AND void at the same time. Can someone explain that to me please.

Someboday say animal has soul that's why we should not kill it. But it is prove that Trees, plants, etc have soul. In 'Bhagavad Gita' lord Krishna say ', 'Mamin vanso jiv loke', means, I m in all.
So why should we eate vegitable ? because it is also alive . it has also soul.

I know that according to Christian beliefs Jesus had to die to open the gates of Heaven. But since Jews don't believe that Jesus was the Messiah, do they think that the gates of Heaven are locked? Or do they have a completely separate view of the afterlife? Any other information on basic Jewish beliefs would also be appreciated. Thanks!

it stands to reason that its followers would also be the most advanced in every manner & so would be its science & tech. as also its overall contribution to humanity. I therefore request muslims to give me just ONE significant contribution of Islam to the modern world. (ie. after 1800, when almost all the technological advancements in the world have taken place)

I recently found out about this religion called Born again Christian,
I do not live in the States and I have been told to be spared hell you have to belong to this religion. I have recently lost my mother
she suffered for 25 years of a terrible illness and her life was already hell. I really need to understand , she was Catholic but just becasue born Catholic did not pratice religion, but she was a good soul. Why would anyone have the atrocity to say becasue she did not practice religion she was not saved and now she is in hell?
why ? she did not do anythig wrong why God would want to punish her when she suffered all her life?

I am looked at in my neighborhood as If I am trying to take these Latinas men away. I walk to the bus stop all the time and since I live in a warm weather climate, you dress according to the weather but since I am single and do run and exercise regularly with co workers, why do these woman always have some rude or nasty comments. I don't pay it no mind but now some one left a nasty note on my car windshield saying horrble things about me when I don't associate with my neighbors, my friends are from work, or church , or the gym, I got to . why do people behave like this towards someone who has never ever bothered them . I have been dating my girlfriend for 9 months and in addition to getting her a gift for x-mas, I was planning to get a small gift for her mom/dad (not individually, but a gift they could share and both appreciate). Mind you, just a nice gesture. Anyway, she has been hinting that I should get her Mom and Dad individual gifts, as well as a gift for her brother, sister, and nephew.

Is is me, or is this really appropriate. I have never done this with past girlfriends. And, it's not like I'm trying to be cheap -- I am just wondering: who's tradition is out of whack here, mine or hers?
