My five year old loves army men and wants to be one for Halloween. The problem: he wants to go as a wounded soldier. I don't want to offend people but friends say if we place a ribbon on his chest that says "Support our troops" it wouldn't offend anyone. I want my child to be happy but I certainly don't want to hurt or offend anyone. He says he's not going to celebrate if he can't be a soldier but I don't think that his choice of a costume is appropriate with so many men and women away from their families now. What do you think?

...why then do Christians keep reporting me simply for confirming what their book says?

It seems to me they should be sending me PMs thanking me instead.

God's contract with humanity: Worship me or die and be tortured forever.

Does that sound loving to you? Like the kind of love Josef Stalin gave the USSR?

And don't give me that "It's a choice, we have free will" excuse... How about this: I have a gun to your head, cooperate or die. Does that sound like a choice?

So I repeat, how is that love?

Basically, you need to harmonize what you know with what you feel.

You know that God does not protect everyone on a daily basis. Example, that tornado that destroyed that mobile home and killed those innocent children.

"Yet, at some time in our lives, we (or at least our neighbors) crave to believe in a protective God; one who will help us, and, hopefully, ever so hopefully, allow us to escape the "D" word; help us escape the consequences of death, and go to Heaven."- Uncle Wayne

Religious leaders have grown their empires on the fear of death.

I have written a book "God' Ancestors", I am not trying to sell it to you. It has been published in paperback (LuLu com provides sample pages)

However, I would like it proofread before it is published in hard cover. Would anyone like a free copy? I would expect you to proofread it and e-mail me your criticisms

Could bisexuality be a learned behavior ? If you have opposite sex impulses but were conditioned though out your childhood that same sex was Ok , would you consider all sex appropriate ? I am sure you would still prefer one more than the other but would try it. This would apply more to children of the same sex as the parents.

For example:

1 Corinthians 1:18
"For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God."

I agree completely! I think the message of the cross is stupid!

Here's another point of agreement:

1 Corinthians 4:10
We are fools on Christ's account, but you are wise in Christ; we are weak, but you are strong; you are held in honor, but we in disrepute.

Yes! Paul was a fool, and I agree completely!

When the Bible itself admits that it's teachings are foolish to those who do not accept them, why then do I keep getting reported for agreeng with it? Shouldn't you guys feel glib instead when I say those things because it confirms what your book says?

I am a Christian and believe that God does have a plan for us and that our prayers are answered. However, someone asked me a question and I could not answer. He gave me an example of praying for the safety for a loved one on the plane and the plane crashes... if we believe that God answers prayers .... then why wasn't this one answered. Does He pick and choose?

How can an atheist just say eh, I choose to believe in God today? Or a Christian, "ok, no more, I'm done." Isn't there something more to it than that? We say we have free choice, but does belief from the heart require a mental choice? Seems to me you either do or you don't believe, no "choice" involved.
