Eh, your teacher probably thought it wasn't the right time or place for such a conversation. Have that conversation outside of school. The staff is just trying to avoid getting sued. All they need is one complaint and then the school could be closed. They're just trying to cover their butts, that's all.
Blessed be.

You are correct when you consider that halloween isn't an islamic instructing. But I feel typically there's no damage in going to any individual apartment and ask trick or deal with, when you consider that we aren't going by way of a devout ritual. As a muslim,we have got to combat factor intelligently. May be by means of displaying a few toleration, individuals will recognize us extra and could also be wanted to know the way Islam had converted the muslims into well contributors.

The most you can be corrected for is interrupting the classroom time, if talking is not allowed during classtime!
If general conversations are allowed, then you are protected under the First Amendment rights to Freedom of Religion and Freedom of Speech.
The separation of church and state does not mean that students are not allowed to freely discuss religion while in a public school. Private converations are legal. It is only the TEACHER and the STAFF that cannot proselytize on school grounds. Their position as public teachers makes them part of the Government, and the Government is not allowed to promote religion.

Because even though our government doesn't seem to have to follow this rule at present, there is a law that states 'a separation of church and state' (church being your religion and state being what the school district is supposed to run off of). If you had this conversation outside of school, it would never have been an issue. However, if you and your parents are both religious, then they will look at your getting in trouble as 'God's work', no doubt and you won't get in trouble with them at least. In the end, what they tell you in school about your record 'following you for the rest of your life' just isn't true.
Just keep off the topic of religion in that atmosphere. Give your friend your number and tell them to call you for your advice.... you're in a more liberal area than I am in - If you weren't religious, you would look at it as a 'blessing', trust me~~~

The only thing wrong would be if your not supposed to be talking amongst yourselves during class time, if your allowed to talk to each other then you did absolutely nothing wrong!!!
Your friend asked and you gave answers... thats what we are supposed to do. Your teacher may be ignorant of what the law actually says and means or possibly is lost themselves.
Dont apoligise for sharing your faith ever!!!
Pray for your friend and also the teacher.
Hold your head high for your a child of the King!!!

You really didn't do anything wrong. I'm not Christian but I have absolutely no problem with people discussing their religions. I think it is good that young people be educated on many theologies. Schools have come under a lot of scrutiny though about religious issues so you just have to be careful where/when you talk about such things.

If it was class time, it was an inappropriate topic of conversation. If it was before or after school, or during lunch, the teacher was in the wrong.

You were talking in class. Pay attention to the teacher while in the classroom, and chat with your friends after class.

You didn't do anything wrong. There are alot of ignorant people out there; and some of them are teachers. But be encouraged! You're learning to stand up for your faith in the face of opposition!
Hoping the best for you...
