in Asia and Europe it wasn't a custom to wear burkas...would women have to wear dear capes if Islam was founded in Sweden, or round hats if founded in Korea...isn't the burka a middle eastern thing...not a God thing...

I'm glad you asked. Islam has nothing to do with the veil, or burkas, that is an Arabic custom, or tradition, not a religious one.

Dress is restricted in most religions, though.

And, the Middle East is in Asia.

It is a cultural thing as well as a religious requirement for women to dress modestly. I am Muslim and living in the USA, but I don;t wear an Abaya or middle eastern style clothing out of the house mostly, but I do dress in loose western style clothing and hijab and I cover my body except for my hands and face.

the burkas are so the men can focus more on the personality other then the looks of a girl.
I mean seriously? how are you supposed to know how a girl is really like if she is in front of you half naked?

Islam was founded in Saudi Arabia. Thats why all the muslims pray towards there. But I guess the Ancient Romans made the women wear something similar to that.

Muslim women r commanded to COVER THEMSELVES .. its in the Quran!!
u can cover urself with a big cloth.. or with a Burka or an abaya etc etc..
but since the burka (abaya) is MORE PRACTICAL than any of the other choices.. most of the muslim women wear it'

Muslim women don't have to wear burkahs in most countries. Most of them choose to wear the Hijab, however, which is voluntary and not part of Islam. One note though, the middle east is in asia...

well, first of all, Muslim women are not commanded by Islam to wear any Buraqas, only to cover their hair and body. ( to be modest)

and to answer your question, YES look at the Amish here in America, they still stick with their beliefs and dont care for the outside world.

i think in asia women would all have to wear those rice paddy hats and kimonos.

in europe women would all look like the swiss miss girl.
