Why do Christians just pick women randomly off the streets and stone them to death in the center of the shopping mall merely on the suspicion of pre-marital sex?

Why do you tolerate these goons who go around looking for women to stone?

I am not sure of the spelling, but we sang it in Girl Scout Camp many years ago, and my grand-daughter wants to know what it means. It starts out - Someone's crying Lord - Kum By A...........
Any input would be appreciated.

That some moments in our history are so great they exist solely to be captured on film to be shared throughout the generations?

I feel this way whenever I see the picture of the crowds dancing on top of the Berlin Wall, or Neil Armstrong first setting foot on the moon. Also some things are just so iconic they become a part of our shared heritage; the poster of a jump-suited Elvis everyone has on their bedroom wall (not literally everyone..), or Steve McQueen about to jump over the wire on his motorbike in The Great Escape.

Do you agree?

Most people love their life and are always trying to get the best of it. But is it really worth to just live say eighty years, enduring all the problems of this life then pass away and forget about it all? Don't you think that to make us stand good, we all have this wonderful hope hidden in our sub consiousness, even we don't really beleive in God?

Exactly how would He prove that he is, in fact, the son of God?

Or would the authorities simply believe him to be another religious freak, and ignore him (and all his followers)?

Whose to say that He hasn't already turned up, been totally ignored, and gone crying back to Dad?

My father and mother were married for 54 years. We always thought that he was the stronger of the two and now that she is gone he appears to be almost helpless. He is a very humble, private man without many interests, so he doesn't have too much to occupy his time. He seems to be waiting to die now so that he can go to heaven and be with her. Has anyone had a similar experience and how did you help the surviving parent to cope with their loss? I would like to hear from all people if you will answer respectfully. No offense but if you aren't a Christian and you answer please don't use this as a forum to say why you don't believe. If you aren't a Christian you can still answer in a helpful and respectful way. Thanks to you all.

For the record; I am an athiest with an interest in religion and I have read the Qu'ran several times. Within Sharia law, there are a group of "Hadd" offenses such as pre-marital sexual intercourse, sex by divorced persons, post-marital sex, adultery, false accusation of unlawful intercourse, drinking alcohol, theft, and highway robbery. Hadd sexual offenses carry a sentence of stoning to death or severe flogging. Chapter 24 of the Qur'an, explicitly instructs believers to whip those found guilty of adultery. It's not contemporary or even based on real world science, EXAMPLE; under an obscure tenet of Islamic law an embryo can 'sleep' for years before swelling a woman's belly thus it is believed that an interval of up to 7 years can pass between conception and birth. This means that a woman who is pregnant and has been divorced for fewer than seven years can theoretically claim the father of the fetus is her former husband. Is that the acceptable face of Islam?

Religion is such a personal and sometimes "touchy" subject to some...(But I enjoy learning what and why people believe as they do)
If you learned that some of your ideas, either within your church or your personal beliefs are not Biblically correct, would you change? Would you change religions? Would you stick with the doctrine, even tho you know it's not correct?
Would switching to another religion, or switching to not having one, be extremely difficult?
My question is whether you'd feel inspired to follow truth as it's been revealed to you, OR would it be more important to hold on to your established beliefs?
Tough desision for some, I'm sure...
