not as close as i would like to be......my older sister decided she was gay after a very long marriage and a few kids...when she did that her personality changed and we grew distant.
My younger sister wouldn't know how to tell the truth if her life depended on it and she isn't a real nice person. When anyone tries to help her with any one of her million problems she will get mad and not talk to you for months.
I believe my mom had a lot to do with our distance....she always played us against each other so now it is hard to repair years of damage that has been done...but i am trying with God's help!!!

Not at all.

I went to war, served twice overseas, but my sister didn't as much as send a post card, though I even made a form letter for her to fill out-- as a joke as well as desperate to hear from her. She didn't even return it or acknowledge it, neither by referring to my mother nor in any fashion.

My brother occasionally sends post cards or a letter written in a graceful flowing hand. He welcomes my visits, but he himself struggles, working for bosses who exploit him, do not allow him vacation pay nor any other benefits. He lives his own life, in a small village on the railroad from our home town to Chicago.

My other sister is both retarded and afflicted with autism. In fact, I think I have an undiagnosed form of autism, Asberger's.

We are also a disfuntional family, recovering or not, from child abuse, alcoholism, mental illness. So my answer is no, we are not close.

My only brother and I were close at times growing up and then we had our times when we 'hated' each other. I wish that I had been closer to him, he died earlier this year at the age of 21.
