There seems to be a lot of people out there who do not understand the concept of evolution properly. It is not a case of a predefined scale or ladder of species (with amoeba at the bottom and humans at the top) which all animals are constantly moving up. Animals don't "evolve" from small mammal to large ape to neanderthal to chartered accountant, it's actually a lot more simple than that.
At the most basic level, evolution means that a species will change its genetic makeup over time in order to better suit their environment. Many different types of animals come from similar roots, but they take different paths. An important notion is that all animals are equally evolved. It is not correct to assume that we are more evolved than, say, dolphins, just because we have invented the internet and Burger King. Dolphins evolved to fit their environment (not all that well - they could probably use some gills!) and we evolved to fit ours. The only criterion for evolution is survival. So the reason there are apes and humans co-existing on the same planet is that the planet can support both species. We were never orang-utans or chimpanzees, but hundreds of thousands of years ago, we might have shared a common ancestor with some of these species. We are simply all on different branches of the tree of life

I think he gives us these similarities, so that when we see them it is shall we say, a test - Who do we believe?
And then he puts people like Darwin on this earth to justify the other argument i.e. "90 per cent the same dna as chimps."
Me personally, i believe The Almighty God. Our bodies are so perfect and do so many complex things and our brains, what can i say, we as humans don't even understand how complex are brains really are, or know how to use it to its full extent.
Something this spectacular could have happened by chance my friend. Besides, life cannot just start on its own, with no help, by chance.

Hey, cut God some slack. I mean, he was in the middle of creating the WHOLE universe and took some shortcuts by using the same boxed mix to create us all. You expect a lot from a god that had to create everything from galaxies too disease micro-organisms in just six days. Bet some delusional superstitionist has been reading this and saying, "this makes sense". Just shows you how shallow they really are.

its true that we share 97% of our DNA with chimps, but over 50% of a banana's and kiwi fruit's DNA is identical to humans {look it up if you dont believe me!}. Does this make those fruits half human? The
3%, although small is what sets us apart from chimps, and anyone can see there are VAST differences between us.

Because that's the way things are. If Darwin's theory was correct why is it that only some chimps (currently humans) changed and the others not. And why hasn't other creatures also changed by time?

There is a long answer and a short one. Although this percentage sounds terribly impressive, this oft-quoted percentage is not a little misleading. There is more to this than DNA similarity. So this does not quite mean what people are lead to believe. You should do a little research on this 97% claim.

I thought it was 99.4% DNA similarity.
I guess God made humans first and then just made a few minor tweaks to create chimps. Why would you want to start again from scratch? It sounds very time consuming.
By the way, I'm not religious.

It is a theory. Not a fact. That is why the missing link has never been found and never will!
Of course there is still evolution to some extent. We all evolve and change.
But humans were created by God and faith is what we need to believe in this.
It is not until you actually start to pray to God and see answers to those prayers that you realise that God is real. Then you finally stop trying to control your own life and let God have control - He knows better!!! Then the best life ever unfolds!!! It is like a dream! I have faith in God whether evolution is apparent or not!!

Very good question which is actually more proof that we were created then not created. If we evolved, and that evolution is based on natural selection then why, if we are nearly the same as chimps, wouldn't that tell you that we should have ended up with all the chimps abilities? Why would we evolve away from being able to use our feet just like they were hands. And all the other abilities that they have. Makes no sense to me.

If Darwin's theory is to be validated, there needs to be a 'missing link,' a bridge between man and chimp. However, there is none.
