of course a good personality ... because there will come a time when our looks will go.. but our persoanlity is something that will stay all our lives.. and will continue to leave an impact on people even after we die.

Well, it's kinds of BOTH. Without a personality, looks are not worth much. A bad personality can make someone much less attractive. However there has to at least be the attraction. Without that, someone is just a friend. Personality with ok looks is much better than good looking with no personality though.

For myself, I think I'd choose personality. I'm already the other way - I look better than I am.

In my men, it's a mixture. They have to be a certain level of attractiveness. Or perhaps it's more a case of they can't be too ugly (to me)! Personality is definitely the more important, but if there's no chemistry because they're repulsive to me, then they're just going to be a friend and any nookie is out of the question. Unless they get me drunk.

When I was younger,
I always used to think looks was everything, and I hated how older people said that looks only made up a certain percentage.
These days, In my old age -cough cough- I finally realize what they mean.
If someone has a fantastic personality, or they just have something that appeals to you mentally....
I'm not saying that looks are useless, because they arn't.
There has to be a physical attraction, but lately I'm finding I 'dig' people's mental state more than them.
I can't speak for the rest of the world, this is just my results.
Hope this gave you some insight.

Good luck, mate.

Dont judge a book by its cover.
I believe in being a good person over looking good. Although i hve to admit that it is all too easy to become vain. on others i find a good personality far more appealing than good looks but first encounters matter and these are nearly always based on apperence and material things. I hope that i can make the right choices when it comes to making judgements. Personality over looks anyday... looks will fade but a good personality will glow forever.

I'd choose personality. I don't care that much about looks. Good looks are a nice extra, but that's all they are. The personality however is very important.

Definitely personality! you can have an intelligent conversation and have fun with a person that has a good personality. A person with looks and no personality would be so boring, after looking at them for a few seconds you would have to walk away. Both looks and personality would be a bonus ;-)

Ever wonder why you don't think your best friend doesn't look as great as Nicole Kidman? Ever wonder why no matter how many plastic surgeries Paris Hilton goes through, she had never been and will never be remembered as a talented actress? That ought to answer your question.

Looks are important to me, however, personality and character are far more important. Looks will fade with time, character and personality are what you have created for yourself. And a good character is invaluable. God Bless
