when you pass away, those you've touched and influenced continue on... If you lived a good life helping others and trying to make the world a better place, the results of your actions will echo on long after you've turned to dust...

What would life be like if there wasn't that hope that one day Jesus'll come back to establish His Kingdom?
Well, I guess the same as it is now for me. I don't believe in all that brainwashing christian stuff so makes no difference to me. If that is true then why does the pope-mobile have bullet proof glass? And why is it that in 1999, the united states penitentiary system had more christian religions amongst the inmates then any other religion (with atheists making up a mere .8%)?

Yes, it is really is worth it to just live as if there is no afterlife or no tomorrow. The here and now is what is important, having a positive impact now is what really matters. If there were an afterlife, I would hope that it would be with my family and friends in a beautiful and peaceful place. However, if were an afterlife as described in Christianity? I'd prefer to just have died. It'd get boring really quick singing "Holy, Holy, Holy" and bowing down kissing gods almighty tush for eternity.
I prefer to live as if this life is it (which more than likely it is) and bring as much joy into the lives of my loved ones and those around me in case I never have an opportunity to see them again. Knowing that I've given happiness to others that in turn they pass to others and so on and so forth, that is good enough for me.

I am quite happy living my life with my family and the blessings of the God and Goddess. I don't think this world will get better just because someone else makes it so. If this world is to improve it is up to all of us to start making it a better place and making each of ourselves better people.
When I leave this incarnation I will only be sad for those that I leave behind for they are the ones that must deal with the pain of my leaving. However, that doesn't mean I must dwell upon this for it is far better for me to enjoy the time we all have in each others company.
Blessed Be )O(

Probably better because Humanity would not be wasting so much time preparing to go to a place that doesn't exist to live a made-up afterlife that doesn't exist either. Perhaps Humanity might expend more effort improving this life instead of wasting resources on that which is ridiculous.

The old saying, Everybody wants to go to heaven, nobody wants to die. A true beliving christian should be unafraid to fly over to iraq and wander around in big groups without protection passing out flyers. Wonder why they don't do that?

What a sad attitude. I feel sorry for you, living in your little gray world.
It's questions like that that make it clear why we had the Jim Jones tragedy, and the Raelians.

I agree with you. What would be the point of all that we have to go through in life if this was all there is? It's only the promise of Heaven that makes life worthwhile and explains the way many things are.

There is a saying "For the lost, this is the best it will get for them. For the saved, this is the worst it will get for us." I hope I said that right. I would hate to think of a life without hope, without Jesus. Blessings to you.

Sure I agree. I'm a wimp. If I didn't have the blessed hope I would have killed myself decades ago. But Jesus is awesome!
May GOD richly bless you.
