I read in one of my earlier answers that newer translations are better than older ones (ex: JKV) because somthing about how the meaning's of words change.

That being said; do we now, 2000 years later, have a better understanding of what Jesus said, than the people he was preaching to? Who are these translators who know of surity what Paul meant? Do they understand Paul better than Jerome did? After all, Paul was not an easy man to understand, and I believe one of the apostles even say so in the bible. When they translate the New versions is it off the Old Greek or Old Hebrew versions? If so which of those are considered the most accurate? Jerome found mistranslations durring his translation, and asked the pope if he could fix them, and the pope said "Nope, it will cause a ruccas."

i had this pic on facebook with me and my steer (i show cattle) and i said something about i should of won but politics (the person that won knowing the judge) well the person that did win saw the picture because it said they left a comment on the pic but nothing showed up when i looked for the comment do you think they were offended i feel bad but dont no what to do... What do you have to say about ancient egyptian cultures known to have existed much longer than 6000 years. Or dinosaur fossils carbon dated to millions of years. Just to name a few. And if you say that god placed them there, I thought that god was not able to physically touch the earth, only influence it with his spirit

I'm not looking for any sympathy, I want facts.
It is wrong enough for society to be hard on minorities, but I find it interesting that society comes down very hard on the minority women. For example, they will employ a black man before a black woman. Why is that?

Isn't that is a preposterous answer to any question?

(PREPOSTEROUS: so foolish or pointless as to be worthy of scornful laughter)

Example:
1. God said it (No, YOU said god said it. Your bible was written by men WHO SAID god said it.)

2. I believe it (Sorry but just because a person believes in an invisible duck, doesn't mean their IS an invisible duck. )

3. That Settles it. (Not so fast....look at 1&2, we haven't settled anything yet.)

And now I will use the exact same argument and whacky logic to demonstrate my beliefs:

The sun in the sky isn't really a giant ball of burning gas....It's actually Ra, the sun god according to ancient egyptian scrolls. (He has the power to conceal his identity, that's why scientists can't see him)

Ra said it, I believe it, that settles it.

Now, how many of you believe that the sun is actually Ra?

I'm a teen myself. I give more concerns to who a person actually is, rather than physical attraction. I was wondering if this was the same thought that other teens have.

Because I have come across a few class mates who actuall "fell in love" the first day!! and a lot more incidents over the years. (You know what I mean). I was surpriced to see a few of them still on the same relation after highschool. But does that add a meaning to life?

Should Muslims be able to preach hate against Christians, Jews 7 Women because their book says so.

questions being raised on this forum are now pointing out that he created humans with the capability to sin, the tree they were tempted to eat from and the serpent who tempted them(therefore arranging the fall of man). Prior questions have pointed out that he condemns unbaptised babies to hell along with children who were born out of wedlock (Deuteronomy 23:2) This is not a likeable entity. This is a monster that barbecues babies. Why do you Xians find it so unbelievable that some of us do hate him and would rather burn in hell than ever have to see him--and if we did see him would spit on him with the ultimate contempt?

When I was in high school in the late 80s, we used to say things occasionally, from time to time, about something being gay or not. It seems like everyone is saying "is this gay, do you think this is gay, thats so gay" like never before.

The only thing I can come up with is a reaction to gays asserting their rights and possibly the influence of the hip hop culture.

I our local paper this morning. A mother is dead & a father is fighting for his life. A young 16 year old girl is all cut up but will survive.

Why? She told her father she wanted to convert from Islam to Christianity. The father attacked her with a knife, ripped her clothes off. Killed the mother when she interviened. The girl escaped to her neighbours in her underwear covered in blood. Why do Moslems do this?
