Is life just and endless journey of trial and tribulations, a road filled with sorrow and tears, with very brief encounters of happiness?

If one can learn to enjoy each time he reaches a crossroad and think of it as a journey worth learning from. Maybe what lies ahead will prepare you to be a better person and would know more how to cope to the next stops.
Let the trials, tribulations, sorrows and tears be your strength and the brief encounters with happiness gives you hope to go on. The journey is never endless, it only seems to be when your mind cling so much to the sad part of it but if you keep along with you the brief joy as you walk through maybe it will become shorter after all.

my life has been long and winding i think. gone through this and that and i'm sure more to come. many times i've wondered what is the use. regardless, i look back to when i was a teenager and received the Holy Ghost with evidence of speaking in tongues, was baptized in Jesus name, and my life was changed. trouble still came, but i was never alone any more. with Jesus truly dwelling in me, there isn't anything i need to worry about. if this life never gets better, doesn't matter, it's not my home. my husband went on before me and i have no doubt i will see him again. so let the road wind. :)

Yes. I counterattack the trials and tribulations with much prayer and God comes and saves the day. It strengths me. It helps me to remain focus and prepare for the next go around which usually is a greater blow or trial. It also reminds me the joy and happiness that surrounds me which is my Husband and my little miracle whose 2. I am so grateful.

Yes and theirs been plenty of guard rails to keep me on track.
Winding roads are great if your life's like a sports car.
who wants to take a flat, straight boring drive when you can live life screeching around bends? or at least not knowing whats on the other side of the hill.

For me I would say both even out...the happiness isn't brief nor is the sorrow endless.

Yes very true. With the bad comes the good, and vice versa. It's like a cycle. Right now, my life is not too good. I have been packed with homework. I want a free life!

Yes, at this age of 70, I realize that life is very difficult, very painful and very blissful.
For my sufferings, they are nothing before those of the dead and living martyrs.
As for my bliss, it is also nothing before their bliss.
That is the eternally and gloriously spiritual way for the true human beings.

Sometimes, but other times we have great joy. But just remember our reward is in eternity, what we suffer here will one day seem as nothing when we inherit our reward. Endless joy, and peace and love as we've never known it.

Happiness is not a station you arrive at, but a manner of traveling.

It's been more like a ******* minefield, and I've got the scars to prove it. But what has not killed me, has made me stronger.
