This is a shot in the dark, but you wouldn't happen to be one of those people that hates gays, would you? If you are then I'll just dismiss this question as another misguided attempt to force your bigotry on other people. Really, how does gay day hurt you? I've never even heard of it before! Why can't people just leave those poor people alone...

That's funny, 'equal rights not special rights' was one of the buttons the Gay-Straight Alliance was handing out today.
Every day is straight day. Every day, you can go get legally married to the person you love, you can get full health coverage under their insurance, you can be a legal parent to the children you helped raise.
Until they can as well, we'll have Gay Day. And I'll support it whole-heartedly.

Is it big where you live or something? I've lived in two different cities with lots of gay friends in each and I've never seen any sort of Gay Day stuff.
In other words, I'm actually in a position where it *could* affect me, and it doesn't. Does it affect your life?

I understand your logic, but if it makes them happy, should someone try to stop it? I go back and forth on their platform because I'm not sure if they should have one. I think they should "just be." I don't think gay people should be discriminated against in any sense, however. Anyway, I'll celebrate non-gay day if you will!!!

Why does it matter? And don't you think cell phones and cars are a bit different than people? I mean, I know we call certain inanimate objects gay, but come on....

Nope, it sure isn't. I don't mean to sound bitter, but I believe in equal rights (as far as our country), and not special rights.
Car day, now that's an idea! Block off a few streets, and just street race all day!

Well there is a talk like a pirate day. If pirates can have there own day then I think gays should have their own day too.

Yes, because the poor minority groups would feel like they were being discriminated against. Hey, left handed people don't get recognized as much as right handed people. We need a day of our own!
Yeah, it makes me sick.
