Definitely No! I wanna tell u that i'm Muslim, i live in Egypt. I'll just simply say that all my best friends r Christians. We live together in peace, respecting eachothers beliefs. Even my ex was Christian and still my best friend till that moment. I hold no hatred towards any person from any other religion, just like any other Muslim. Islam isn't like how people in the US and Europe think of it. Many people get a totally wrong picture about it. We aren't terrorists like how the world calls us (or claims we r), we hate terrorism and whatever could cause to shedding innocent blood. Every religion, every place got the bad and the good, u just can't judge a whole race for just a group that doesn't even know what Islam means. The word Islam itself is coming from "Silm" which means "Peace", our salut is "Salamu Allaykum" or "Peace Be Upon You". We just live a normal life like anyone else, we hate war, like Who would ever love destruction? Who would love to lose his family, friends and the people he loves in war? Nobody. Islam is a religion of peace and tolerence. And Islam doesn't force anyone to become Muslim, nor tells us to hate Non-Muslims simply cause they are not Muslim! We hold respect to all other religions... Hope u'd get the right picture.

Well obviously there is no religious doctrine worse than Islum, i would rather have the friendship of a devil worshipper than even allow a Muslim to live in the same town as me if I had my way. But then again if you go directly by what the scriptures say then all the religions from that region are actually pretty ugly. It's only that the followers of two of them have sort of disregarded parts of their teachings that make them suitable for civilized society if you ask me.

Just as with christian extremists it's in the interpretation.
The Quran didn't tell them to run 747 into buildings and the Bible didn't tell Koresh to stockpile machine guns.

Lots of religions have nasty bits
Deuteronomy, for example
If your brother, son, daughter, wife, or friend tries to get you to worship another god, "thou shalt surely kill him, thine hand shall be first upon him to put him to death." 13:6-10
If you hear of a city where another god is worshiped, then destroy everyone in the city (even the cattle) and burn it down. 13:12-16

the Noble Quoran doesnt say so.
and the word islam came fron the word "silm"
meaning "peace"
and most of what's in the Quoran resembles w/ what's in the Bible...
and the Bible came first before the Quoran was done. ;-)

Yes - it is a very militant religion "spread by the sword" and that kind of thinking leaves no room whatsoever for co-existance with anyone else.

The bible tells people to stone family members who change religion...
uh ohh.... truth rears it's ugly head.
Deuteronomy 13:6-10 If thy brother, the son of thy mother, or thy son, or thy daughter, or the wife of thy bosom, or thy friend, which is as thine own soul, entice thee secretly, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which thou hast not known, thou, nor thy fathers; Namely, of the gods of the people which are round about you ... Thou shalt not consent unto him, nor hearken unto him; neither shall thine eye pity him, neither shalt thou spare, neither shalt thou conceal him: But thou shalt surely kill him; thine hand shall be first upon him to put him to death, and afterwards the hand of all the people. And thou shalt stone him with stones, that he die.

Hindus
and many other religions have a " not us then hate them clause "
often its the broader text you have to study rather than a paragraph on its own.
