I have recently been lost my mother which has resulted in me completely loosing my way in life as she was my best friend. I have been chating to various people on the internet through my mothers memorial web site and also on this site and I have to say that I have resumed faith in people that are genuine and care.. With the world being so unpredictable and horrible most of the time who has faith in the human race ?

I often get told that as a Black person I should empathize more with Gay people becasue we were/sometimes are discriminated against as a people. I'm a little skiddish on the relation of the ideas but here goes, Wouldn't it be pointless for me to celebrate at 26 years old

Not ever being in a Jail
I have no kids running around without a father
My Father never been to jail
I have a Great Job, My own Place, My College Degree
These are issues Black men face and don't always overcome, if I try to celebrate it with Chips and Pie at work that would be Retarded. Yet all of that is a part of who I am vs. the statistics.

Yet if someone Comes out at work, it's different than what I've described. Why and How?

Or you can simply say I am Comparing Apples and Oranges the two should never be compared. Thats your Double Jeporday ? of the day.

Gravity is just a theory...
Quantum mechanics is just a theory...
Plate techtonics is just a theory...
...so yes evolution is a theory, but do you understand what being a scientific theory entails? It is not just a random guess, but rather an extremely detailed approach at analyzing all available data to reach a conclusion, and then testing this over, and over again...

...so 150 years later evolution is still a theory, but with each new piece of evidence it becomes a stronger one...

Next thing you know fundies will want to teach 'intelligent falling' instead of gravity because ...'it's just a theory'

My friend was President last year, and really didn't do that well. I was thinking about running against her, and we talked about her running for pres and me running for vice pres, but I think I would do a better job. Should I just run for VP or should I go for Pres and risk hurting my friends feelings.

God in the form of a father walked the earth in the old testament. Moses saw the back of God while cleft in the bosom of the rock. That was the father of his daughter Israel. His feet were occupying the earth in that space and time. God's word proclaimed the coming Deliverer the Anointed one and Messiah to redeem the earth.

God the son came and dwelt amongst us and we beheld his glory. He walked on this earth in the form of the son. He promised when he left that he would send the comforter.

Now the church is filled with the Holy Spirit. We have our feet firmly planted in the word. We stand in defense of the gospel. We contend for the things of God. When we are taken away then that will complete the family cycle.

King David said, "I will dwell in the house of the Lord for a thousand generations." A generation was in the lifetime of a family. So, the Father, Son and Holy Spirit are the lifetime of a family. Once that family is gone there will be no other family.

I am 22, normal and not really known for hallucinations or panic attacks. One night about 4 years back in a house we lived previously in, I was awake till late, studying. Suddenly, I heard the water drops dripping from a tap. Initially, I was a bit confused but then to my relief I remembered that we had a tap in the backyard which leaks the whole day and so my mother had left a bucket underneath the tap.
But only a few moments later the sound increased like someone had turnd the tap on a little bit. I heard a little more closely and the tap had been turned on fully. But I couldn't hear any movements outside (the tap is right outside my room's window, so I hear the slightest of noises). Now I heard the water in full flow (and I must admit I was SCARED). After a while the water stopped flowing and started dripping again........
Till date I havn't been able to figure out any logical explanation. Has anyone else had any similar experiences?

Think of the example of Jesus in the Garden of Gesthemane. He was praying to be freed from the task his father set before him (which was to be crucified). The Roman soldiers who captured him were fought by the disciples. Peter ended up cutting off the soldier's ear. Jesus turned around and healed the Roman soldier's ear.

Do you believe that Jesus, if he were physically on earth today would send people to war?

HOW could Jesus have had faith? He is God; he knows and sees everything without having to turn to anybody else. Now faith consists precisely in leaning on another and in admitting that which is not seen; that Jesus-God could have had faith, therefore, is excluded.”
According to the French theologian Jacques Guillet, that is the dominant opinion in Catholicism.
The question of Jesus’ faith really is an enigma for Catholic, Protestant, and Orthodox theologians who believe in the Trinity as “the central mystery of Christian faith and life.” Not all deny Jesus’ faith, however. Jacques Guillet affirms that “it is impossible not to recognize that Jesus had faith,” though Guillet admits that, in the light of Trinity doctrine, it is a “paradox.”

“Faith consists in believing in another, not in believing in oneself,” notes the periodical La Civiltà Cattolica.

Should we thus conclude that God’s Son did not have faith?

I get the impression that many that do not believe in God would say that all children must be educated about certain issues even if they are in conflict with their religious beliefs. I also feel that many, not all, would rather we not be allowed to home school or send our children to faith based private schools. If so, Whatever happened to Freedom of Religion?

For example we are told to be tolerant to all opinions & then we are told that groups like the BNP shouldn't be tolerated.

Well, shouldn't tolerance cover ALL opinions and beliefs? whether you find them distasteful or not, if it doesn't it really isn't true tolerance at all is it?

Do you think it would create more tolerance in the world or more violence? (Remember just because you're learning about other religions doesn't mean you have to belive in them)
