Okay, so my birthday is 19th bday is this week and everyone keeps asking me what i want. I don't like telling ppl what to get me for gifts because that's not the point of gifts. But anyhow, what are some practical gift ideas...i live in a dorm so I don't have a lot of room, but yet since I have to tell them what i want I want a sentimental gift kind of. Any ideas out there?

Supposedly prophet "Adam" built the original kabbah....the first living man apparently new learned how to fabricate materials, design and structure, and build the whole thing without any help!!

Well, then silly Allah flooded the whole world and destroyed the house of Allah (Kabbah). Of course, Allah could have murdered everyone with a flood and still magically protected the Kabbah if it indeed was ALWAYS intended to be the ritual center of ritual slavish worship for the islamic zombie. Why didnt he do that UNLESS the Kabbah really wasnt important to him?

All the above is merely a query which uses attempts to show the ignorant muslim the absurdity of their own created mythology. Educated people know that the Kabbah was created by pagans. The archelogical evidence is 100% on the subject, and Muslims dont deny it, they simply claim Abrham came BEFORE the pagans and the pagans took it over after. Of course, there isnt a shred of evidence to this effect.

It's so frustrating seeing such blatent misunderstanding, especially when evolution really isn't saying anything about the origins of the universe, whether there is a god, or if we have immortal souls. Evolution can coexist with all these concepts, but based on all the nonsense I read, I suspect that most Christians don't even have a cursory understanding of concepts like natural selection, descent with modification, environmental pressure, etc. Yet, they malign and dismiss evolution as if they've really studied it, which clearly most haven't!

I was raised Chrisitan, with 10+ years of religious education. I read the bible, studied Buddism extensively, & did cursory investigation into other major religions. I really TRIED to understand religion before I dismissed it. Have you REALLY tried to understand evolution, or do you just parrot Christian dogma?

With so many in the world, how can you be so sure? Muslims, Christians, Catholics, And even atheists, you all have beliefs. Do you have proof of them or can you prove another one wrong? Or do you just believe in it by tradition and what you were told?

Even if you believe in multiple paths to salvation, even that should have evidence of some kind right?
So where do you stand? And why? Are you absolutely certain when your soul is on the line?

Forsake your family. . .?
I have been working full time in a ministry now for a year and a half. at just 18 that might be a shocker.
But i have also been on my own since I was 12.
Both of my parents were drug addicts and left my sister and I to fend for ourselves.
I now live in a different state than the rest of my family, and I miss them alot but I know this is where God called me to be.

Do you think that it is wrong to forsake your family for the call of God?

Maybe I should expand alittle bit. I have resumed contact with my parents, our relationships are getting better everyday, I continue to pray for them all the time.
I just wanted to see what peoples oppinions where on the matter.
I know that I can always do Gods will, But I was called here. I feel that this is the best place for me to be.
the best place to act upon my calling.
Some people have told me that they think it is wrong to choose God over your family, and even though I know that to be false, I wanted to see what other opinions were out there.

I would never joke about something like this.
That is the candy coated version of my life.
when I was younger I had the hardest time understanding why God would put me in a family like mine.
Now I realise that He put me there for a reason.
If I hadent gone through the things I went through I would not be who I am today.

Now I have the chance to minister to people who have experienced similar situations and show them how faithful God really is.

In response to a question that was basicaly : the world is pretty why don't you belive god designed it.

Here is the best "point" one can score against aethists. We don't know. We have a few theories, so far most of us ( i think, i could be wrong ) go with the big bang. Is it an unalterable fact? No. It is only a "fact" because at this point nothing has been able to prove more likely. We (aethists) manage to accept we don't know everything. We strive to learn. We would love to know the begining of it all. But being rational beings cannot help but respond to I.D. as nothing but a veiled attempt at creationism. Which is founded on Faith not science. True science can and often does change daily, but we are willing to accept change to grow. Christians / Muslims / Hindus / all other religeons refuse to deviate from the idea of a spiritul realm that depends holy on Faith. we grow and change, whilst the relgeous grow inward and twist like vipers at themselves with there "interpretations.

i think society has lost it. society hs become so obssessed with the joneses, and being superhuman in achievement after achievement, at a younger and younger age, u got kids at 3 years old learning the computer, taking up classes, already, that if somebody isn't a millionaire, driving a fancy car, slept with 15 hot women by the age of 27, they're then considered a failure. then it just sucks then. truly does. say it isn't so. say it aint so.

Could any practising Jehovahs Witnesses please explain to me why how I can make my wifes mother love her? She has wiped her off and so has the rest of the family that are Witnesses only because she spoke the truth, she found out her brother, a J.W is a practising Homosexual and has been lying about it, some may say its none of our buisness but when he judges us for living a non JW lifestyle and then doorknocks and preaches to others about J.W'S, We felt that it was our moral obligation to confront him and let the truth be told, now all this has done is alienated us from them, they preach love and family but can hate in an instant because "you are not allowed to criticise the flock" why are they so hypicriticle? is there a Head Jehovah I can email? all I can find are the local Halls and they are all ignoring our efforts to reconcile, some nice people they are? I believe the truth should always be told wether it hurts or not, he should not be allowed to deceive people. Why are they so ?
