That's why I believe in purgatory why don't protestants...

No. There is no Heaven, Purgatory, or Hell. There's no gods nor devils. There's no angels nor demons. No matter what you do during your life, you'll be dead eventually.

Mt 7:21 can be interpreted differently than you interpret it. "Entering The Kingdom" in this verse can refer to be aware or having "Kingdom consciousness" in this life and not everyone who is religious and calls Jesus Lord is awakened to the Kingdom.
Regarding your questions and statements, as a protestant, I have no problem with the concept of purgatory: I've had a lot of things purged from me. Being purged is simply growth; it's part of life. However, I dont believe purgatory is a place anymore than hell is. The Jewish tradition from which Christianity was born, made rich use of story and metaphor. When we get hung up on those things, we create myths by interpreting metaphorical and symbolic language and concepts literally.

I suppose if you if you take the verses (well atleast the one's I found in my bible), out of context, then I suppose you could come up with a concept of purgatory. But only if taken out of context.

And what about the theif that died on the cross beside Jesus. Jesus didn't tell him that he would go to purgatory and be purified before going to heaven, no. He tells him that "Today shalt thou be with me in paradise." Luke 23:43

If he really and truly accepted Jesus as his saviour, then, yes, he will go to heaven. As far as suffering, we really don't know what is in store for our eternal life. It will be better than here.
Read John 3:16....Whosoever believes in Him shall not perish.
You could ask that question about people who accept Jesus at a later age...like 56....or 67....or 73....and then go on to live 20 more years....they weren't believers their whole life....I don't think Time has anything to do with it. There is no deadline. Thank God.

Well your not God. and 2nd there is no mention (what so ever) of a purgatory in the Bible. I don't know where you came up with that concept from.
If in his heart he is truly repentant, sorry for what he has done, and defiantly would never, ever do it again. Even though he will be exacted,Yes (Jesus would forgive him): With the emphasis on (REMORSE): Only God can know if the man/woman is truly (remorseful, and sorry) for their actions. I am glad that judging them is not up to me.
That is the difference in Living under the grace of (Jesus Christ) and under the Law of God (given to Moses): I hope this answered your query.

I am sorry, but part of your question just caught my eye. It just really blows me away how a convict will find Jesus in prison!!! If a person wanted to love God and his son Jesus, shouldn't they be doing this BEFORE killing someone??? I know it is never too late to learn the Bible, but why wait till you are on death row? I look at it as a front, to make people think they are remorseful.

I'm sorry I probably took your question way out of context, but this is a sore subject with me.

not everyone is favored the same but all that call upon His Name shall be saved. fair or not.

i wont pretend i'm well versed in the bible but i do know there are a few verses that make reference to the lake of fire. which is purgatory. you can't believe in heaven without acknowledging the existence of hell. they're both very real places.

I don't believe in Heaven If the Bible had any kind of consistancy, why don't Christians even agree with each other?
Starfish, repent means turn away (don't do it anymore), not remorse. Many people are remorseful (sorry) when they are caught.

You can list a hundred bible verses...none of them will say there is a purgatory, because there isn't! It's a shame Catholics are not taught the bible. The bible tells us we are washed clean, and made righteous, through the blood of Christ.

Yes, if he truely accepted Jesus he would go to heaven, but he would have no rewards when he got there. Of course if you are not a Chirstian, you have no idea what I am speaking of and that in it's self is sad.
