Every christian religion exept Catholics harps about being saved all the time, but what exactly is being "saved?"

My friend is from Germany and nannying for a wealthy family in Washington, DC. I am going to visit her for the long weekend and I will be staying in their home, where she has her own quarter of the house. I would like to get them a little thank you gift for allowing me to stay there. They have 3 children, oldest is around 10 and youngest is 2. Theyre both doctors. I am cheap and looking to spend NO MORE than $20, but less if possible. Any idea of what to get them?

Is there anything in the Bible about that?

If God does do this, isn't abortion good then? To allow souls to go straight to heaven instead of having to be born and live first? What then is the objection to abortion?

If not, why is God then called loving and forgiving? Why is it the unborn child's fault that it died?

okay, i'm usually, always a witch. But more than half the girls at my school are gonna be witches. And my old witch costume is too small for me, so my mom is gonna buy me another one. I'm thinking of being something else this year becuz i only get a chance to be something different every 3 years.
I want somehting different that's not exactly scary, but not rely tooo feminine(i mean like, a princess or faerie or faerie princess.)
i dont want something that includes a really freaky mask.
But i dont want to be an awkward object(pumpkin,table,candy)
Oh and also, it should at least cover up my legs, It's really cold on halloween night.

I lived for many years in the city & loved the live theatre, live music, excellent (non-chain) restarurants, trader joes etc BUT felt I needed to get a house as I was gettting older. In the city I could only afford a small rental apt with no room for a dining table, bad heat and no AC in the summer. For $100 more, I now have a real house with dining table & dishwasher, laundry, guest rooms & guest bathrooms. My upper deck looks out on a fruit orchard & mountains. I have grapes and blackberries and fresh eggs BUT I am having a jones for civilization ! Help ! is there any way to have the best of both these worlds ?
