Dear flippy,
For some people, the world will end on 11/9/06--these are people who will physically die on that date. If they are not saved (born again), the next thing they will encounter is standing at the Judgment seat of Christ to be sent to eternal punishment. Those people who physically die on that day but are children of God (born again) will go directly to heaven to be with the Lord Jesus Christ.
As far as the end of the world is concerned, the Bible tells us that we cannot know the day nor the hour. However, we can know the year. From everything the Bible states to the present day, it appears that 2011 seems to be the year in which the Lord Jesus Christ will return. That day, of course, will mark the end of the universe and Judgment Day. Noah's flood occurred in 4990 B.C. It is not by accident that 2011 is exactly 7000 years after the flood of Noah's day. Remember what the Lord says in 2 Peter 3? He speaks of the flood of Noah's day and then goes into what will occur at the end of time. Between these 2 verses He says,....a day is as a thousand years and a thousand years is as a day... God told Noah to get into the ark 7 days before the flood. If we multiply 7 X 1000 we get 7000. Adding 7000 to 4990 B.C we arrive at 2011 (there is no year 0).

No where in the Bible says the world will end on November 9th. The bible does say,
"But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up."(2Pet.3:10)
This means that no one knows when God is coming. Also in Matthew 24:24-
For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

November 9, 2006 is not a date given in the [Christian] bible. The world may end on before that date, on that date, or after that date.
Last night did you believe you would wake?
In Acts 1:7He [Jesus] said to them: "It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority" NIV
Many times Jesus talks about being prepared. [I think you already know this.] We have information that prepares us so we should not fear.
Just like when you go to sleep, you expect another day to live. Do not be afraid of the end times which you may or may not see.

No, I don't expect it to end on Nov 9th. I don't expect it to end, until long after my dead body has decomposed!
The only problem is that there may be a comet or asteroid coming our way and we don't know it! We don't have enough telescopes to scan all of the regions of the Universe. I have read that
by the time we find it, our planet will only get
6-7 days notice. I intend to drink some liquor
and take some pills, rather than to suffer through another Ice Age and starvation!

Religions have incorrectly predicted the end of the world many, many, MANY times. I wish I could give you an exact number. So don't worry we will be fine. Do not fear, that is what many religions want you to feel. Do you remember 1999? Everyone was going on about the end of the world, but here we are 7 years later. So relax.

Puzzled look. What people????
Geez, an awful LOT will have to take place before then! Lets see, the current pope will die, then be replaced by another, then that one will die. Russia and China will have to invade the middle east, the anti-christ will have to be in power over the whole earth, the mark of the beast 666 will be implanted in everyone, the meteor will hit earth, knocking it off its' axis, The Holy Spirit will leave earth, extreme natural disasters will happen everywhere, the middle east will turn to glass from every nation,................nope, I don't think there's time for all of this.

Ask them to tell you where in the Bible.
It does say that no man knows the hour or day that earth will pass. (Mark 13:32). So these that say the exact day is in the Bible are incorrect.
Mark 13:
31Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.
32"No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. 33Be on guard! Be alert[f]! You do not know when that time will come.

Matt 24:36
Jesus, the one who authored the Bible said, "No one knows about that day or hour" (Mat 24:36). The Bible nowhere prophecies November 9th for anything.

You failed to mention where in the Bible this is mention, I don't recall ever reading it. If this is part of the Da vinci code it's false. The Da vinci code is false. No I do not believe the world will end next month, unless the eastern sky heralds the return of Jesus Christ then I'm ready to go.
