Okay, so I'm the maid of honor in my sisters wedding (May 2007) and have a question about the shower. She's been married before, he has a house so they don't really "need" anything...my sister says what they REALLY want is for the shower guests to contribute to the honeymoon expenses in place of gifts. My question, how do I handle this? I'm thinking that the only way to really do this is to mention it in the (couple) shower invitation, but what's the "correct" way to do that? Thoughts / advice--thanks so much.

someone told me that In the early days of Christianity in Europe, before most people were Christians, people who were not Christian's were regularly put to death. i dont agree with that. do you ? to me it just doenst make sense. how could a religion like CHRISTIANITY allow such a thing to happen? to kill those who arent believers? the whole belief behind christianity concerning non-believers is to " witness " to them . pretty much to convert people to this religion. a preacher saying " you are wrong believe what i believe or you are going to burn " and that is wrong. what is your opinion?

No one gets threatened with hell for choosing to wear blue jeans instead of chinos, for eating Chinese food instead of French, or attending a Tom Hanks film instead of a Cameron Diaz movie. We go toward the sources of enrichment that fit with our own needs and that we find most personally relevant.

Why not take the same approach to religion, respecting each person's choice to pursue the source of spiritual strength that fits best for them?

The following are direct quotes between Paul Weyrich, Chairman and CEO of the Free Congress Foundation and a reporter on NPR. It was recorded yesterday, and I was so angry, I had to pull the car over! Go to this website to hear the interview for yourself:

http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=6196749

“Here is the real problem. It has been known, for many years that Congressman Foley, was a homosexual. Homosexuals tend to be preoccupied with sex…”

“Now before we go on, I think I can say Mr. Weyrich, that there are quite a few people who would take exception to the statement that homosexuals are preoccupied with sex.”

“Well, I don’t care whether they take exception to it, it happens to be true.”

“That is your opinion?”

“Well, it’s not my opinion, it’s the opinion of many psychologist and psychiatrists who have to deal with them.”

If this also ourages you, go to

to direct your complaints.

1 Corinthians 14:33 For God is not a god of disorder but a God of peace. What does this verse mean to you?

What are ways that I can experience more of Gods peace and use his peace on a daily basis.

God is also teaching me that I am not to be the center of attention but that God is the center. How can I be mature in not monopolozing the conversation, being too wound up and very hyper and overly talkative? I am going to be in my realtives wedding this saturday could you pray that God is glorified in how I act? Because what I listed in above is not being in order and I know it.

My hearts desire is to grow closer to God and realize it is not about me but about Him.

What are ways you have grown in the Lord and put your life in order? What are ways have you helped others to grow in thier walk with Christ?
