Wow - interesting article. Obviously in his case he didn't know how to deal with his anger. That is an issue that relates to any direction of anger. I think God understands that we can get angry at Him and I do believe it is ok to let Him know that in prayer. But... For myself and everyone I know that has done this, being totally open to a response, God ends up being justified in the end. God is ultimately good and just. If we're angry with Him, it's ok, but eventually we come around to His way of thinking. He simply tells us "In your anger, do not sin."

Interesting question and I see 2 possible answers:

1) from the point of view of an atheist, since there is no god, it is not dangerous at all. Swear, shake your fist, call down the lightening bolts....nothing will happen to you, so maybe it is as good a way to vent anger as any other

2) from the point of view of the believer, and we can safely assume this nutcase was, it seems this person was angry at god for whatever injustices he felt life had given him, and was apparently challenging god to stop him from comitting these atrocities.

The question as always for believers is, WHY DID YOUR LOVING JUST GOD ALLOW THIS TO HAPPEN?????
Innocent, simple children of faith lined up and executed, and god thinks this is not something he needs to get involved with.

Please no "god has his reasons that he won't reveal" or "it is so the survivors can appreciated being spared"

I'd find the news story about the guy who said he could go into the tiger cage at the zoo because God would protect him and link that if I wanted and ask "How dangerous is it to put your faith in God?" but I really don't feel it's worth my time.

While I have some differences with the "Amish way" I commend the reported peace with which the Amish community has delt with this great sadness. To the point of meeting with the wife of the killer... That is Forgivness as God intends Forgivness to be....

As to being angery with God... I know even the amish fall to this from time to time... and I am certain that the emmediate families of the victims had that time of anger withing themselves... But the strength of thei knowledge of God and of God true nature quickly cooled the anger... as one of The True Christian Faith, as are many of the Amish community, I will state that all of The Faith get angery with God from time to time... we are all mortal and imperfect beings... God knows this and forgives... And we have to do our part... That is what is being demostrated by the actions of those of God's people in that Amish community today.

Being angry with God is not the problem. How we respond to that anger is critical. The Bible is full of people who were angry with God, but held up as examples of faith. Job, for example? Job was seriously ticked off. But he responded appropriately and was rewarded in the end. Jacob physically fought with God. God rewarded Jacob in the end. In both cases, these men were humbled. Jonah, however, reacted with arrogance. He was not rewarded.

Not very. Many of the greatest figures in the Bible were, such as Moses, Isaiah, David, and Job, Jeremiah. The key is to figure out why?

How many conflicts and wars have you heard of that have been attributed to "God" almost every one.
Many people use "Gods" name as a reason, sorry but i do not believe in "God" and never have and never will, OK so i may go to Hell but where do you think we are just now.
War in the middle east, Northern Ireland, WWII all "a fight in the name of "God"
I am not angry with "God" but i also have no fear of him, i do however fear the fanatics who use their "Gods" name to kill and maim Innocent people.
Please stop this hatred, your "Gods" teach love and peace so practice it before we are all destroyed by the hatred.

Depends on whose version of God you're angry with.If you're angry with my version of God,then you're perfectly fine. This guy wasn't angry with God,he was deranged and angry with himself. And the danger was to the children, not himself, really.I mean,if you choose to harm yourself, that's not really danger.I can't figure out why you asked such a question. At least in those words.Hmmm.

I do not suggest shaking a fist at God in anger. However, God is big enough to defend himself. I am more concerned with those that kick in the door of heaven to name it and claim it.
