What should my husband and I do for Halloween? I'm pregnant so going partying is out of the question. Any laid back ideas that will be fun, safe, and still a little spooky?

The above question was inspired by a response to my previous question. I ABSOLUTELY AGREE with the person who provided such insight.

Most examples of the harm we cause people dealt with physical violence. Can you provide for me ways in which you feel our words may be harming the other people who use this forum??

Or do you not think that words can cause harm??

Elaborate, please. Thank you.

I was raised to be open-minded, to base my opinion of others on how they treat me..not by the color of their skin, or by their choice of who they wish to spend their life with or anything like that. I was raised to love everyone and not hate anyone. My husband of 1 1/2 months has made it clear that NO black person is allowed at his house to visit or stay the night. My daughter's best friend is black... she is an only child, her mother is a therapist and her father is an electrician and he also works with people who have had a problem with drugs. My daughter's friend has been raised with manners, saying "yes/no ma'am", she has been raised a lot like my daughter has. I don't see a problem with them taking turns staying the night with each other, but my husband on the other hand wasn't raised like I was. My husband was raised to believe that black people stay with their kind and white people stay with their kind. She says the bible says races should not mix..I don't agree.

I was really puzzled about Islam. They do believe that Jesus was a prophet. Mohammed also is prophet. But why is it that they almost kill anyone even to display the carricature of Mohammed, while the carricature of Jesus is not?

Also, If Jesus was so well loved then why do they focus on his death and dying rather than what he said when he was alive?

Actually I am doing some research on how far the Church has fallen into Secular Humanism. As the Bible says clearly to this question... No, sex before marriage is sinful even if you love each other. Being in love doesn't alter the reality that the sexual act is outside of marriage, marriage being the ceremonial union of a man and woman in matrimony. Sex outside of marriage is called fornication and the Bible definitely condemns it.

Your thoughts?

I know the answer to this and will give it here...I just wanted to see how many Christians still believe that it is wrong..(I am a Christian)

The Bible does not forbid interracial marriages. It does, however, forbid a Christian from marrying an unbeliever: "Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?" (2 Cor. 6:14).
Numbers 12:1-8 is an account of Moses marrying an Ethiopian woman. If race were an issue, this would have been a great place to set the matter straight.

I'm a strong chrisitian who believes that you that only god's grace can get you into heaven. (contrary to last q) Anyway, when a problem comes up, It's not okay to automaticly asssume it's a trial from God designed to teach you something or strength your faith, right? Well, how do I know if it's him, or good ol' lucifer providing the "pain"? I know this question is kinda like the why does god allow evil question, just looking for some insights from the faithful.

thanks,

Surah 61:9-He it ia who has sent his messenger (Muhammad) with guidance and the religion of truth (Islam) To make it victorious over all other religions even though the Mushrikun (non-beleivers) hate it.

Burst out your handy dandy Korans and hooked on phonics tapes and let's read along boys and girls. It's in black and white.

What do you Muslims have to Jedi mind bend the meaning of this surah?

Some things are literal and a four legged mammal that says "meow" is a feline, not a canine.
