Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) had very high regards for Jesus (pbuh) and Mary.
I've heard that when Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) was on an idol-demolishing spree he never 'touched' or showed any kind of disrespect to the idols of Jesus (pbuh) and Mary.
Now, coming to your question; it is known to all and sundry that Islam condenms idolatry in the strongest possible sense. The Prophet himself never allowed anyone to draw or recreate his image. And Muslims worldwide have maintained this tradition ever since
Thus, the caricature of our Prophet is bound to create chaos since it goes against the very message of Islam.

We believe that Jesus(pbuh) was a prophet as well as Abraham
(pbuh) and Moses(pbuh). We have all of the same prophets as in the Bible with the addition of the Prophet Mohammed(pbuh) who was the last prophet of Allah. We believe that all the prophets should be respected and that no caricatures of any kind should be drawn of any of them. But the Prophet Mohammed was the last prophet, he was the one that preserved the words of Allah in the original form. And this is why he is more dear to the hearts of Muslims around the world. The question should be if the Christians believe that Jesus is the son of God , the savior, then why don't they feel the same way when Jesus is depicted in a bad way? Why do they ignore someone mocking their "Savior"?

if u really know Islam ull know that Islam says that the only condition some one cud kill any other person is in war or in self defense !
and if u saw a carricature of Jesus just tell a muslim abt it and see how he reacts !

Carricature of Jesus (PBUH) is also very much forbidden among Muslims. There are a number of Muslims who didn't watch Passion of Christ and other movies having Jesus (PBUH) just because of the point you mentioned.
Pictures of any Prophet, or God Himself, is against Islam because Idol Worshipping is highly Forbidden in Islam. According to wholly Quran, we (Muslims) are not supposed to kill everyone who is idol worshipping or is not a Muslim, but to try to convince them with peace. The point you are discussing is about making a fun of The Almighty God (as Prophets are sent by Him) and also making a fun of others' believes.
Anyone who has a faith on something gets mad if you make a fun of his/her believes, especially about the Greatest personalities, For Muslims, that's The Almighty God (Allah) and any one of His Prophets (PBUAT).

wait ........... that is why muslims WORLD-WIDE banned the movie and novel Da Vinci Code -- for we cant stand false propagandas against Jesus-pbuh. we love him more than Christians. i think the world is a witness to how much christians and other people payed more than their pockets to watch this movie. oh yeah and muslims did take out rallies against it. Muhammedor Jesus-pbuh or any of the 1,24,000 prophets of God -- are all Equal and no distinction is to be done between them.
they are people who had dedicated their lives for us -- they were so selfless and were not self-centered. they spent their life just teaching the word of God to us. thus, it is now time for us to honor and give them the respect they deserve.
