We are considered quite conservative by the secular world.
We have always allowed the celebration of Halloween. My children are older now and do not wish to go trick or treating anymore, preferring to dress up and do other activities now.
The children looked forward to the day that their creative planning would all come together into a costume, and this part they still love. I admit, I love to dress up on this day, but do it less and less as we also get older.
We acknowledged to our children that there were bad connotations to the holiday as well as the bad connotations that are connected with Christmas (over spending and materialism)
Halloween was celebrated as a fun day to show your creativity and to plan hayrides and parties.
Christmas was celebrated more soberly. Santa was acknowledged but in our house he was comparred to the three wise men who brought gifts to our Savior after his birth.
Basically, its all about how you treat the day or days. If you allow negativity and the world to dictate how that day is spent, then you really are allowing the world into your home instead of God.
It is NOT our job to keep our children out of the world, It is our job to prepare them for it.

I don't have any children but most of the Christians that I associate with believe that such a decision is up to the parents and the Holy Spirit. Letting children put on costumes and go around saying trick or treat to get candy falls into a similar category to eating meat sacrificed to idols.
1 Corinthians 8:4 Therefore, as to the eating of food offered to idols, we know that "an idol has no real existence," and that "there is no God but one." 5 For although there may be so-called gods in heaven or on earth--as indeed there are many "gods" and many "lords"-- 6 yet for us there is one God, the Father, from whom are all things and for whom we exist, and one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom are all things and through whom we exist. 7 However, not all possess this knowledge. But some, through former association with idols, eat food as really offered to an idol, and their conscience, being weak, is defiled.
In other words, if a parent feels that letting their child participate in these activities is inappropriate because they are celebrating a pagan holiday that glorifies evil then that's their call and no one should tell them that they are wrong. If another parent says Holloween is just a silly holiday where kids can have a lot of fun dressing up and going around and getting some free candy then that's their call. Most parents would however suggest that their children not choose to dress up in a Satan or a Witch costume or something like that. They can dress up like an Angel or some other character that isn't representative of something that the Bible says is evil because it's not appropriate for a Christian child to go around pretending to be a sinner.

Growing up I was not allowed to celebrate Halloween. Simply because it is a day that celebrates death, dying, ghosts, ghouls, witches, warlocks, and many other things that Christians view as demonic and wrong. I think most people view it as a fun day to dress up and get candy but if the holiday itself goes against your beliefs then you probably shouldn't celebrate it. The same reason why pagans say they celebrate winter soltice and not Christmas. Why don't they celebrate Christmas? Because they believe it is wrong. Its that simple. Do what you believe is right.

I dint have any kids yet, but I won't ever let them celebrate Halloween..
Firstly because Halloween is a Satanist celebration one might say the equivalent to the Christian's Christmas.
Secondly I live in South Africa, if I sent my kids out on Halloween my bet is they would
a) get raped
b) get violently assulted
c) kidnapped
d) offered to satan
I would rather let them have a costume party any other day. in a safe environment for them and their friends

I am not a parent, but my parent's are conservative, born again-Christians, and they allowed me to "celebrate" as in I had a Jack-O-Lantern and I went trick-or-treating. Any of the prank/vandalism stuff would of been abhorred.

i'm satisfied to hearken to ;your question because it really is so authentic, i'm unhappy that there are the variety of tremendous number of human beings obtainable who do no longer have self belief in God only using actual shown reality that he would deliver them to Hell. My answer to you is that the Bible thoughts are frequently symbolicall of a few thing else. The burning lake of Hell is this international, i have self belief that when we die we are judged by skill of what we did in our lives good or undesirable, I dont imagine it concerns what faith we are as long as we like one yet another, all religions prepare an same component and that is concord. No i'd not in any respect deliver my toddlers to an eternity in Hell, and neither would our author, yet he will attempt to coach us and delivers us probability after probability, going to hell is easily having to come back again down right here and stay again till we get it proper!! ultimately we can all bypass to Heaven, inspite of our image of Heaven is we will be their!! certain unconditional love exists Our Father In Heaven has given it to us!!! some human beings dont have self belief in Reincarnation because they don't have any memory of living earlier this, yet do they even undergo in recommendations what that they had for dinner very last Monday? Does that recommend that it did not exist? study up on reincarnation yet dont ignore that Jesus is likewise authentic and he died for our sins and became risen again to be on the right hand of God, and for this reason none human beings will bypass to Hell we are already their some human beings worse than others.
