TO BE FAIR I WILL STATE I AM AN ATHEIST

Actually most religions seem to focus on the same points - love, law, honesty and respect for a higher power.

Take the 10 commandments - they are basically a guideline on how to live in a time of disease, crime and extreme injustice. The Torah seems to focus on the same (no surprise considering they are the same story) but the bible got updated with Jesus and his 5 laws - a summary of the 10 commandments.

Islam again is similar, but it is also just another offshoot of the Jewish faith- instead of going the way of the christian Jesus, they followed the teachings of the prophet Mohammad. Again, laws, respect, honesty and faith are among his teachings.

All religions are peace-full - it is the media and extremists who are the people who show conflict. This is mainly due to their way of interpreting the language in the printed texts. Unfortunately though none of the texts were written in the times that they were based. Eg, the bible was written hundreds of years later.

Just remember that next time you read it - and think of the GIANT game of Chinese whispers that took place before the bible got printed. Think about how true it can really be?

In my opinion - most religions stem from the basic law of humanity. Be good to one another. A god figure had to come in because the early humans could not explain many things like fire, sunlight or animals. They knew things needed to be made, so someone before them must of done it.

So to sum it all up - religions may have different stories, but all dictate that you should honour and respect your fellow man.

People's nature is to want more, and to always be entertained. For example God fed the Israelites manna everyday. But soon that wasn't enough and they wanted meat, lusting after things they didn't have. People's sin nature can be their death. Lust leads people to a religion that fits into what they want instead of what is the truth. How long will it be when people tire of the truth and decide to make something up so they are entertained. Hence, a religion to fit every person. How about just sticking to the truth.

There are as many belief systems as there are human beings on this planet. We all *need* to believe that ours is the right one -- otherwise what would be the point in believing it? But if the belief I hold dear contradicts your belief, that is held just as dearly by you... Conflict.

We can never make someone else *believe* what we believe, but we can use forums such as these to help others understand *why* we believe, and hopefully all will gain insight and respect.

Hopefully.

I got an idea, you got an idea but we cant both agree who's idea is best so i go my way and you go your way and WALLAH! We have a dozen churches believing a dozen different views on the same subject. Some times i wish God would come down and say "Now listen! For the last time this is how it is!" But then i think....Oh No! What if i am wrong? Peace to your and your Ideas.

Many people are familiar with Jesus' words at John 8:32: "The truth shall set you free." Unfortunately, they overlook what Jesus said just before that expression, in verse 31. There, he said, "If you REMAIN in my word..." So, if we are to be freed from all kinds of falsehood, such as the trinity and the hell fire doctrines, and the belief that all good people go to heaven, we have to remain in Jesus' word. We cannot deviate from it. Because some refuse to do that, they form their own ideas of faith, which go contrary to what has been written.

Mainly because the origins of most religions date thousands of years back, so there is uncertainty in every religion. A lot of religious people are in doubt and basically it turns into a contest of whose faith is the strongest.

because everyone has their own opinions, their own ways of perceiving the universe. the conflict comes about when some people claim that there's only one "correct" way to view things (this is of course impossible), and they try to force their views on everyone else.

Plural & contrary "scriptures" oft contain the word "and".
But what's "inspired of God" is notably the "script-u-are".

Jesus oft both "answered" AND "said", playing two parts.
CJ is mirrorly the reverse of JC. Peace is "through J->C".
"Division" is what's notably thru C->J 'end focuses' on J.

Jesus: "division" and not peace: Mt 10:34; Lk 12:51; Jn 7:43
Christ: "peace" & not divided: Jn 14:27; Eph 2:14; 1Cor 1:13

That God was NOT in Jesus alienating the world.
"That God" was in "Christ" reconciling the world.
"That God"? That God is light void of darkness.
"Christ"? Christ is the end of the law(darkness).
The word of "reconciliation" is "grace", not law.

The GRACE of our Lord Jesus->Christ with you all. Amen.

Because some people find it to hard to follow God's law so they start a new church to justify their chosen lifestyle.

That is why I am a Catholic. The first and only Church that Jesus started.

Peace!

religions are regional bases. hence conflicts arise of various regional views.
so intellectual say god is one. hence all religions are based on god; all religions are leading that god only. therefore all religions are one only for humanity.
