okay, i have this teacher, and she gave us an assignment in class to write a paper planning out our futures. I am only in the 8th grade, and have no idea what i want to do with my future yet, and i told her as much. She yelled at me and everyone else in the class that didnt have a definite plan that we needed to get our plans in order, so we didnt end up working at McDonalds for the rest of our lives. My opinion is that if i dont have a definite plan for my future, i can explore a lot of different paths, and choose the one i like best. I cant really be expected to know what i want for the rest of my life at 13 years old, can i? Am i wrong? Or is she?

I am a muslim girl. a very strong believer in God however i am a sinner and dont abide by islamic rules. i read quran on a daily basis and i am very much in touch with god spiritually. I dont practice islam but i usually make an effort to respect the holy month of ramadan. i will not be fasting this ramadan.I have a boyfriend. so already 2 things bad. i was wondering. if we are bad on one issue, would it matter if we for example try to abide by one single rule. for example, out of respect i dont want to drink in ramadan, but i will be sinning at the same time in other things. should i make the effort and do sthng right or that doesnt matter since a sinner is a sinner? and i would be considered a hypocrite?

YUSUFALI, PICKTHAL, or SHAKIR?

They're all English translations, but they don't match word for word. It's just like how you Muslims say there are so many versions of the Bible as a way of trying to destroy Judaism and Christianity while at the same time promoting Islam.

Someone pulls over with a flat tire; immediately after, there is a pileup of cars. Was it the hand of God that popped his tire and saved him? What of those people in the crash? Was it His plan to injure/kill them? If everything happens for a reason, why was that man saved, and the others scorned? Is that man better than the others, in God's eyes? Isn't that un-Christian?

From the book, The Case For Christ, Lee Strobel interviews (Louis S. Lapides, M.DIV., TH.M.) Lee Strobel asks Louis this question....
"Isn't it possible that the gospel writers fabricated details to make it appear that Jesus fulfilled the prophecies?"
Louis explains, "When the gospels(Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John) were being circulated, there were people living who had been around when all these things happened(Jesus' miracles etc.) Someone would have said to Matthew, '"you know it didn't happen that way. We're trying to communicate a life of righteousness and truth, so don't taint it with a lie."' Besides he added, why would Matthew have fabricated fulfilled prophecies and then willingly allowed himself to be put to death for following someone who he secretly knew was really not the Messiah? That wouldn't make any sense. What's more, the Jewish community would have jumped on any opprotunity to discredit the gospels by pointing out falsehoods.Never did that happen."
Thoughts?

I reciently read both of the books Angels & Demons and The DaVinci Code books By Dan Brown and watched the movie (which i LOVED). I was wondering the opinion of people surrounding the religous take on this and the political shift it has taken as well. Do you think it will change the views of Christianity and other religions on the Holy Graile,
Christ, Mary Magdline, Opous Dai, and other religous groups

There's this girl at my school who got saved about a year ago. Thing is, now she's out practically splashing people with holy water. Anything you do, she has a Bible verse. "Don't do that because Mark says..." it never ends. She's so adamant about judging people and telling them why they're wrong. But then she turns around and will make fun of somebody's hairstyle. It's getting mad annoying. If I make a joke, she'll say, "You shouldn't say that because Luke says..."

I'm a Christian, but I think it's wrong to go around and get on EVERYBODY for swearing or getting a tattoo or sleeping in church...I mean, nobody's perfect, so it's senseless to go around and point out everyone's fault, especially when she's gossiping about people three seconds later....it's your average holier-than-thou thing going on...what should I do?
