I always thought it meant Daniel. NOT JESUS who did not exist at the time and had not even a spirit to mimick a corporeal being.
In every Sunday school class I had that dealt with this story not once was it ever said to be Jesus. That interpretation has got to be purely evangelical american christian which is something else altogether.
