When he said "Thou shall not kill" Did he mean any living creature? Please don't think this is funny. The reason I'm asking is I used to be a hunter, and sometimes I feel remorse for any animal that I shot.

Everyone has their own point of view and I don't think arguing your point of view is going to persuade anyone else to agree with you who didn't already so who really cares? I am getting kind of frustrated at reading people who do or don't believe in God, etc... Our beliefs are our own. Period.

but i never tell him that homosexuality is a sin.. I believe he knows that. But he prays and he seeks GOD in everything. He helps out people and he always give great encouragement to me and our friends. I will not stop being his friend, he is a good person and I love him in the Lord and has a good friend to me. (He is an awesome co-worker! Harder-worker) Will he still go to heaven? I know thats a tough question but he is a dear friend.

Clearly the majority of people parusing the religion section are more likely to be pro-religious than not. But why do honest and genuine responses to questions warrant so many negative votes simply because they aren't hardcore religious? Every answer I give to one of these questions gets several "thumbs-down"s. It's silly. Are we not all entitled to our opinions? What is wrong with open-mindedness anyway?

I find this duplicity confusing, Jesus says to turn the other cheek, but says he came bearing a sword, to set son against father etc... Are Christians supposed to be pacifists or a load of war hawks?

And that archaeologists have claimed to find both (the Ark of the Covenant is supposedly in the Sanctum Sanctorum of a little church in Ethiopia and Noah's Ark is supposedly on Mt. Ararat in Turkey) but that neither had been proven or even inspected by anyone: not archaelogist, not scientists, and not biblical scholars.

Pope Benedict recently told Ontario Bishops that Canada has excluded 'God from the public sphere" with laws supporting same sex marriage and abortion. He went on to say that Canadian Catholic politicians are ignoring the values of their religion yielding to "ephemeral social trends and the spurious demands of opinoion polls" "And that, in the names of tolerance, Canada has had to endure the redefinition of spouse and, in the name of freedom of choice, it is confronted with the daily destruction of unborn children.".
Canada has always demanded the separation of church and state.
We have freedom of religion, however we don't have a "state religion" in Canada. The government does not interfere with the various methods of spiritual rites in the many religions in the country. Similarly no one religion should be able to dictate to state politicians how they should vote on an issue.
What are your opinions?

"During Ramadan, Muslims are also expected to put more effort into following the teachings of Islam by refraining from sexual intercourse (during fasting), violence, anger, envy, greed, lust, angry and sarcastic retorts, and gossip."

But during the other 11 months, it's perfectly OK to be violent, angry, envious, greedy, lustful, sarcastic, and gossipy?
