Well, I used to run an S/M club. It's a club, which usually has a rather extreme decor, lots of chain, usually a couple of St. Andrews Crosses for flogging, or a flogging bench, or maybe even a rack or suspension cross. These are all trappings of the art and theatre that is S/M. For above all else, S/M is theatre of the best kind. It also usually involves people who enjoy tight leather, rubber or other fetish clothing. I myself am still an active Master (Dominant) in the S/M scene, flogging and fire being my specialities. Contrary to popular belief, S/M is not so much about control as it is about giving up control. Once this is understood, everything else is just plain FUN.

A place where a Master can take his "boy", "slave", "pup" for fun and games or to find one. Clubs offer racks for whipping, tables for fisting and other kinds of stuff, special chairs like toilet seats for specialty fetish, etc. S stands for "sadism" -giving pain; M for "masochism" - taking pain. Has to be consensual and the Master and Boy usually comes up with code words to show limit of pain taken.
