Good point. In fact, the Bible is far outdated in what is needed to be taught in this day and age of humanity.

You take the one true message of the New testament as "Love thy neighbor as you love thyself." This is what needs to be executed by those who call themselves religious. And as we all know, this message is found in many different texts, from all over the world, (even other-worldly?) and when the same message can be taught from different reference points, is it necessary to have religious wars? No.

God didnt change the rules because god is omnipotent and always has a plan. The old testament is about the establishment of the jewish nation and Jesus' blood line. So in the new testament Jesus came to become the sacrifice for all our sins. After Jesus came he showed the correct way to worship him different from what the jews had done before. Good question and i probably didnt explain it nearly good enough.

The new covenant is the third covenant God enacted with His people. The first being the Abrahamic covenant and the second being the Mosaic covenant. Given the fact that details of the third covenant are given in the Old Testament, in Jeremiah, and Ezekiel it's not like it just randomly showed up one day. Daniel prophesied about it. David wrote songs about Jesus, Isiah told the people what He'd be like. Since God did not give any indication that the covenant would change again, (and several that it would stay the same till the end of time) it is against the nature of God that He would change the rules on His people and not give them any warning.

You're right! the new testament is false, because in the old testament it says there will be no new one. God Does Not Change His Mind!

He has never and will never change. In the old testament they had the system of sacrifices, and God told the Israelites that one day He was going to do away with the system. When they would sacrifice they were looking forward to the sacrifice of the Messiah. When Jesus died our sacrifice upon the cross, that system was fulfilled. Now when we have communion we are looking back to that sacrifice. The new dispensation is the old dispensation but with out the system of sacrifices.

The rules of the Old Testament have not been eliminated. God's law is eternal. Commit murder and see what happens. You are under the law if you do not keep the law. You keep the law and fulfill the law if you love your neighbor as you love yourself.

The rules from the old Testament to the new testament did not change; they expanded and grew as mankind's spiritual maturity grew. Think of it this way: if you have a child, you deal with them in their infant/toddler stage with strong restrictions and simple commands: "no." "Stop." "Hot." "Come here." "Bad." "Very good!" There is a whole lot of things they cannot do simply because of their immaturity. Punishment is issued according to maturity and understanding.

When they become a preteen/teenager, you increase their liberty and punishment in accordance with their maturity, but you also expand your explanation of the rules of the house: "Pick up your room." "Do not come home after 10 pm!" "Do not bring the car home on empty!" "Take a shower, get in the water, use soap, and dry yourself off!" Some parents even write them out and put them on the refrigerator, because this is the most effective way to deal with this stage. The rules and boundaries of the house haven't really changed, they've just been expanded and expressed according to the child's level of maturity and understanding, and the parental love remains the same. Accordingly, the child enters into a new level of relationship with the parent.

When they become a fully mature adult (so we hope!) They now enter into a greater understanding and level of maturity. The "rules of the house" (which were simply designed to help them operate successfully in their relationship with the parent) are no longer needed; if the person was successfully trained, they will now automatically do inwardly, from their heart, what the rules of the house were intended to get them to do outwardly. Now, because of fully developed LOVE for the parent, they pick up their clothes, speak respectfully, and do whatever else love requires of them. Since they do it from their heart, they no longer need the external "Rules of the house." They have now grown beyond them.

It is the exact same way with God and man: In the Bible, from Adam to Moses, man in his spiritual infancy understood little of God, and God dealt with them according to that spiritual maturity and understanding; a few simple rules and requirements, basic understanding of right and wrong.

When Moses came along, mankind entered its teens, God revealed even more of Himself; man received greater authority from God, and, in turn, the "rules of the house" (aka, the Ten Commandments) reflected this change in maturity and requirements. Greater accountability was given out for sin, because man now had a greater understanding and ability in God.

When Jesus came, mankind received its deepest revelation of God and how he operated; man also received the Holy Spirit, which made full spiritual maturity available for all who received it. Every believer is now "an adult" in the Lord, receiving full sonship in Jesus, having a heart that is full of the spirit of God, leading us by our love to do what the law of God required outwardly. As a result, we no longer need the law to please God; we simply follow the leading of love in the Holy Spirit, and we will automatically do what the law requires. So God did away with the written law (Ten commandments), although He fully expects us in our spiritual maturity to fulfill what it asked us to do in the Old Testament. This is why Jesus told that man in the gospels that the greatest law in the Bible was "Love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind and soul, and the second is just like it: love your neighbor as you love yourself." Mature love of God, received in the New Testament, will always lead us to do what the law of the Old testament required, just in a different way. (Romans 13:8)

no, the new testament was to abolish rules and laws in a sense and tell us about faith. not works but faith and love. i was just reading Paul's words to the Romans. it says the truth about god is known instinctively to them. in their hearts god has put this knowledge. it says they have no excuse whatsoever for worshiping god. claiming to be wise they became fools instead. anyway Romans is talking about the Jews who were given the law and the gentiles who were not. but it says can we brag about doing anything to make us right with god? no because our acquittal is not based on good deeds. it is based on faith.but there is the scripture this means everlasting life, taking in knowledge of Jesus. but it goes deeper, into the heart. for myself personally, i was involved in a religion for 27 years that was all about works, and it literally almost killed me. i was so angry at god. i was in a cult. but i got out. now i know god. i know grace and mercy. i have faith. i see god is not out to get me. he shows me miracles everyday. he continues to heal me from addiction, alcoholism, depression, hepatitis c, diabetes, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue etc. i can say i am happy. NOW i just need to try to quit smoking cigarettes. i could sure use some yahoooo prayers. thank-you. and i am going to say two words that i mean. well actually three. god bless you

You can't make modern rules for God.
He didn't change.
you can change.

the gift of God is eternal life...
