STRESS - everyone these days are going off with stress.
you tell your doctor that everything in your job is getting you down, you feel so low, lethargic and have no energy and the thught of going to work depresses you as you have been under so much stress at work lately.
good luck - enjoy the time off

Your family is going out of town for a funeral for one of their friend's that used to babysit you when you were a baby. You don't really remember that much, because you were so young. Your mom insists you go to be her support. This lady was one your mom's best friend's but moved out of state when you were 2. They communicated through mail only for all these years, (the reason for this is that if they only communicated through mail, there is no reason you should know her other than what your mom has told you over the years. Why 2 wks. for a funeral? Because your mom wants to stay in town for a while to help out family and friends with arrangements, cleanup at the funeral home, being the shoulder to lean on and the ear to listen, is going to help clean out the lady's house and need you to help. The lady had a pretty big house, and noone to take it over. She had no kids, and her husband had been deceased for a number of years now. Give the assurance that you will be back sooner if you get home any sooner than planned, (you won't, but it will show your boss, that this really is an inconvenience for you and that it is unavoidable for the most part. Also that you do care about days missed at work, for whatever reason, (the lost wages, the hours, etc.) It worked for me.

Well great plan, as long as you don't need to leave your house for two weeks. If anyone sees you at the store, a restaurant, etc. you'll be busted and will probably lose your job.

Not to mention, next time you're really sick, you won't have any time to take off.

If you hate your job that much, look for a new one.

concoct a story that you fell off a ladder doing work on the house and have hurt your back - go to doctor with a stiff walking stance, make out you are in lots of pain and get a sick note for 2 weeks - back pain is apparently really bad and I know someone t hat had two weeks off with it and got a sick note!!!

Do the old bad back thing, doctors find it very hard to diagnose back problems so you could pretend you have hurt your back really bad lifting something, when he starts to press it in certain areas yelp loudly and don't forget to sit down slowly and stand up slowly too and you could throw in a bit of a limp for good measure.

Well, you could either lick a pay phone or a waterfountain in the doctor's office, or you could feign insanity.

Say you are tired, complain of headaches, mild nausea. Be really vague in your descriptions. Shoot for chronic fatigue syndrome...
