And some claim they only meant that the 7 years of Trib was starting....(Yet an earlier prophecy by the HOY would have made this the last year of Trib)...

A Certificate of Participation reads:

This is to certify that
M. Holl
has successfully participated in the Applied Sociology training on 08.08.2006 at the Hamilton Garden High School - Open Doors Program

For the "Open Doors Program" Team
J. Smith A. Spencer MA Wright

My question is: what does "For" in the sentence:
For the "Open Doors Program" Team
means?
I mean, is it proper English? Does "for" here means "on behalf of"?? Does "for" here mean that the people who sign the certificate (J. Smith A. Spencer MA Wright) belong to the "Open Door Program" Team or just that they are representing the Team but they do not belong to that Team?

Thank you,
Alpha

After two years in a very white preschool, I was pleased to find that my daughter's kindergarten class is very diverse, not just black and white, but children of Asian, Mid-Eastern, and Hispanic descent. My daughter has never asked questions about people's appearance before, so I was tongue-tied when she came home yesterday and told me about "the brown boys who keep getting in trouble." How do I explain that that is not an appropriate way to describe people? The intent was certainly not derogatory or malicious; to her it's the same as saying, " the girl with curly orange hair" or "the tall boy." The best advice I could muster was to learn their names so she can refer to them by name. What is the PC lesson here?

Please note that I am talking about a 5 year old. The intent of this question is not to incite the next civil rights movement. Please refrain from any opinionated or inflamatory answers.

I have noticed that:

1. there are unsaved people who seek the the TRUTH of Jesus Christ but unfortunately they came across UNTRUE answers on YA!

The Kingdom of God is not about the name of church or denomination, but about these people who seek the TRUTH.

I think we should discern who seeks the TRUTH and who does not.

I know we are DEPOPULATING the Kingdom of darkness as we preach the gospel on YA!

What do you think!

In ancient astronomy, who was orion? Why did he have two dogs?
Can anyone tell me what orion did before he became a part of the constellation (a god?), what his job was, why he had two dogs, and what happened to cause him to be a part of the constellation.
Why did he have stars on his belt? What roles did majis canis play in egyptian, roman, indian mythology? What events/purpose did this star cause or play on earth, i.e. it was the brightest star, dog days of summer or flooding of the Nile.

I am absolutely clueless about mythology and astronomy. To me a star is a star. They all look the same. Thanks

Honest question, not poking fun or anything.

Let's pretend that there is no hell. Do you think that you would believe as faithfully as you do now? Why or why not?

Thanks for your answers :)

I have been pondering the choice.

2006-09-14 01:54:47 · 13 answers · asked by Anonymous in Religion & Spirituality

I don't understand this rationale.

Let us imagine that you are a strong abortion opponent, insisting that a fetus has the same rights as a woman and that abortion is "murder."

Abortion should be outlawed, you say, except in cases of rape and incest.

Now imagine that the light of your life, your bright-spirited 13-year-old daughter is attacked on her way home from 8th grade. She is held down and the attacker has forced himself onto her, shattering her inncocence, ripping her insides. Imagine that she was too afraid to scream for you to come help her.

This all comes out when, three months later, you learn she is pregnant.

Being a good parent, you allow her to have an abortion.

Isn't this just a cop out? Obviously you don't believe that the fetus is human... it didn't do anything wrong, but you don't want to put your child through any more than she's been through. This is admirable, but this sounds like abortion is wrong unless YOU decide it isn't.

Please explain.

I am a sophmore in high school, I did not have PE last year and am worried about showering nude in front of the other guys in my class. I'm afraid I could get an erection and be called gay. Is this a normal worry for a teenager? I don't feel comfortable being nude in front of other guys.

I don't

Through two questions, not one person has come forward to say how they would force unwillingly-pregnant women bear children.

Not one.

So I must assume you support unwillingly pregnant women committing suicide, throwing themselves down stairs, using coat hangers in back alleys, -anything- but legal, safe, medical abortions.

Your refusal to state how you would force them to endure pregnancy to term leaves me with no alternative assumption.

Comment?

The 2 most annoying I've heard are: "appreciate ya" and "...so I says..." DO THEY REALIZE HOW STUPID THEY SOUND??? #1 it's called THANK YOU, not "appreciate ya"... #2 it's called I SAID not "so I says". Maybe it's some stupid Mormon habit... than again 1/2 my wife's family say it so who knows where it came from but it's the most annoying BS I've heard in my life.
