I am a sophmore in high school, I did not have PE last year and am worried about showering nude in front of the other guys in my class. I'm afraid I could get an erection and be called gay. Is this a normal worry for a teenager? I don't feel comfortable being nude in front of other guys.

I don't

Very normal to feel that way.
You can be very modest, by wrapping yourself in a towel on your way to and from the shower, shot. That will minimize your exposure, and help you avoid viewing other guys.
Try to think about something else during the process, whether its about your next class, or lunch, just focus on anything other than the showers. Also, should you think you are starting an erection, hold your breath. That limits the blood flowing to your "extremity", and should alleviate the problem. Hold it as long as you can, then breath and hold again.
After a couple of weeks, you may not be as fearful of this whole thing
Good luck.

I am a mother of two teenagers and I don't know what these schools are thinking. I realize that you might need a shower after PE but come on......they throw you in those group showers like a herd of beef and expect you perform a function that you normally do with no one else present. It's really an outrage. Isn't being a teen humiliating enough without the school inflicting this punishment? Do you have to shower or can you opt out? I know....you probably need to wash off the stink.

You are not the only who feels that way when the locker room is full of guys and yes it's normal. Girls are the same - some just shower with their under wear on and then change in the bathroom when they are finished. Ask your coach / teacher if this would be acceptable for you to do.

You won't get an erection if you don't think in those veins. Why would you around a bunch of guys anyhow? Just in get and take a quick shower, wrap a towel around yourself, and get dressed quickly.

Just keep your mind on things that arn't sexy. Keep your towel near you. This scared the hell out of me too - and I AM gay. I was in denial about it back then and didn't admit it for some years. The site of those bodies was something else. But again, I got through it by keeping my mind on other things and by having my towel close.

Well, I once asked a question on here about whether guys ever sneak a peek at another guys package. EVERY guy who answered swore that they NEVER looked. So if you believe them (I certainly don't) then you have nothing to worry about!

i think u need to get over this worry. all guys have a penis and balls. if you start to get a little excited, then focus your mind until you calm down so that your erection does not occur, and you dont get embarrassed.

try it once at least, for your own sake!

Completely normal and a lot of the other guys will be thinking the same thing.

You're not the only one thinking about this..

I think it's awful to have to shower together in high school. Nudity and high school do not go together. Just try to keep your thing facing the wall. Probably no one will be looking at you since the others are probably embarassed for themselves, too. Good luck. I am feeling your pain, man.

Most guys feel as you do, and they just get in soap up, rinse off and get out
