Good reasoning depends on using only true premises and valid deductions relating to the premises. Premises have to be verifiable in reality and deductions have to follow the established rules of logic.

Good or bad reasoning will always be most easily judged after the fact. Hindsight will always be 20/20. Basically, the results or consequences of a decision is the deciding factor as to whether or not a person has used good or bad reasoning.

Perspective will also have a bearing as to whether or not a person used good or bad reasoning. (In other words, the people who are hurt by the decision will see it as bad reasoning and the people who benefitted will see it as good reasoning, and the people who are uneffected just won't care one way or another.

I guess, utimately... it is a judgement call easier to decide after the decision has been made. (The person who hurts the least people is the winner)

in any society there are specific laws, rules, and mores which govern the members based upon the cultures incorporated in the society. when the individual member of society goes against these laws, rules and mores then one is considered deviant and subject to punishment according to the society's standards which is bad as long as an individual lives their life within these bounds this is good because of free will. this would constitute my answer to your question.

good usually means to better something or feel better about something. Bad means that there are consequences that may be undesirable - hurting feelings, hurting people, animals the environment. That sort of thing. Sit down and make a list of pros and cons when making major decisions - trust me it works - the one with the longer list usually helps make your decision easier.

Maybe it is: If your reasoning is the same as mine, then it is 'good' reasoning, but if it is not the same as mine, then it is 'bad' reasoning.
