Whoa… I got in trouble for suggesting this one. If you hold beliefs in something that you can't prove or dis-prove, I'm sorry that's faith. Not believing in a supreme being is a faith in it's own. You have faith that a supreme being doesn't exist and that when we die, that's the end of us.

We could argue back and forth about proof or lack of proof, but that's not what I'm getting at and not what I want to get into. I just don't understand why saying that athiests have a faith is so troubling to some. Please explain if you disagree with my opinion.

Should we put our faith in Gandalf, as he defeted death, according to this book, Lord of the Rings, The Two Towers?

Shall we sing praises in his precious name, Gandalf?

Should there be chrurches erected to Gandalf?

Its in the book that he rose from the dead, so, I'm just asking.

What do you think is the real cause behind crime? it seems as though politicians and civic leaders are proponents of programs/initiatives that deal w/ the symptoms instead of the root of the problem.

Just answering, 'it's a lack of God-consciousness, sin, etc. will not get you "best answer"

These days you know longer have to be buried or cremated when you die, there is a world of other final options to choose from. Anything from being pickled like Stalin to being turned into a diamond is possible. So, how do you want your body to be treated when you die, do you want to have a boring old burial? or do you want to be turned into something beautiful? Pursonally I want to be turned into a diamond and passed down through the generations as a family heirloom- buts thats just me. Remember, you are never to young to think about your funeral, the phaeros for instance would start to plan as soon as they got on the throne.

Christians (or any religious believers) require solid evidence for things like evolution, the Big Bang theory or other scientific explanations for natural phenomena, like any other rational human being. But when it comes to matters of the Bible, Quran, etc. they accept its answers without evidence.

Now, I know there will be people that say faith is the reason for this, but how can anyone arbitrarily apply faith to some circumstances but not others? How is religion exempt from proof?

More importanty, why don't more Christians have faith that science is correct? They should not require evidence in one arena and refuse to acknowledge the need for it in any other.

Ok, so I'm making a point rather than asking a question, but it would be interesting to know what the scholars think.

Why do you believe Jesus gave St. Peter unique responsibility for founding the Christian Church? Is there salvation outside the Church of Rome? Why does a church or priest have to intercede between God and humans?

If I complain about my job, people say I should go to school and get a better one, etc. Don't those spoiled people realize that is everyone had big jobs then there wouldn't be anyone to work as cashiers to check them out at the stores, pick up their garbage, clean up after them , serve their food, etc? People are really spoiled and seem to think the lower wage earners are not as good as they are. When the garbage men went on strike in our city, the place was a mess, when the grocery clerks when on strike, I noticed. SHouldn't people have a little more consideration for the hardworking people who get paid very little to wait on them? I hate to hear when some business person is complaining about being tired. Tired? They sit on their butts all day while as the rest of us are on our feet for 9 hours with no break or anything, coming to work when we are well or sick (no sick pay) so why do they complain??

There is this guy on Yahoo Answers and now he goes by the name of Palisade but he keeps changing his name and his profile. 3 days ago he said he was a woman and posted a picture of a woman and apologized that her boyfriend was using her account and posting ignorant answers that she would erase. Now she is a man again called Palisade. Anyway my wife posted a question in the pregnancy section and mentioned that our baby died when she was close to her delivery date and we burried him in a tiny sailor suit and burried him next to her mother. This guy Palisade answered that we should have had the baby mummified and that the baby would dig his way up from the grave and vomit on her and spew diahria all over her. Then he started sending her hate mail about our dead baby coming back from the grave. She closed down the Yahoo account & couldn't go near the computer. He is now at level 4 and keeps changing his name but now his screen name is Palisade. Watch for him. He is evil.

I think that the reason it is so difficult to find God in this world is because we are so far from living as God does.
