Europe is dying. They aren't having enough children to replace the ones who die, so no, the EU will never be a superpower

As prophesy, this one is as good as any other...in other words, you are completely right, it's BS. In terms of political possibility, the EU will have a leading role in the West, after the US has completely lost its status as a superpower because of our resident idiot's Middle East adventures.
