What do you think is the real cause behind crime? it seems as though politicians and civic leaders are proponents of programs/initiatives that deal w/ the symptoms instead of the root of the problem.
Just answering, 'it's a lack of God-consciousness, sin, etc. will not get you "best answer"

Desperation and loss of hope. Of course desperation and loss of hope are usually caused by poverty and not being able to see a way out of the situation. In my opinion, we should start funding schools equally, nationally, and give every one the same standard of education. Right now, the richer the area, the better the schools which just feeds into the cycle of poverty and keeping people down.

The youth are no longer being taught by thier parents and by GOD what is right and wrong. Most of us learned everything we know from peers. In the public school system. I learned more from the people(my peers) than what teachers and books taught me. You can blame it on pressure that manifested in the wrong direction, but society in a whole played a big role. how can parents be there for thier children when they have to work all day. That is about half of thier lives not spent with thier progeny.
I am speaking on personal experience. I learned evrything I know from school and society that dwells in the hallways between classes. it is not the parents teaching the youth, but more of the youth teaching the youth. Because I was there. From learning how to roll a blunt to sneaking into the movie theatres. And if society functions like that, who am I to stop the way society functions. I have done a lot of things in my past. And it was all taught by my friends. the poloticians can polotic all they want , but that is far as it will go for the general public. Polotics. Unless they go to the root of the problem, the mind set of the average american will not nor can not change. We are trained to know we have to have money to survive. So with that truth to life, people will make money by any means neccessary. From selling drugs to robbing people. And if that is the purpose of today's society(to make money), then that is what one will do. By any means neccesary.

I think that killing a person is more like a think to do, or they kill for pleasure.
Any way to kill to rob is not normal and that person that did this is not human or animal is nothing.
A other reason do criming is lack of knowledge or education.If a child is raised in a family of criminals him self will be a criminal.Or if is bitten every day or see that then he will do the same.A other reason is alcohol,for example a friend of mine was a very nice and quiet boy but when he got drunk he was very aggressive and was looking for a fate.

the answer is more complicated than the question. corporations instituting higher profit margins beyond average income levels. there is a multitude of single parents raising kids on one income which leaves their children with only the necessities. the peer pressure to be cool and have the in 'stuff'. the absurdity of the prices for these 'in' items. economic standards which pays lower wages for less educated people while the education system degrades. the increase of the income gap between the middle-upper class and the lower-middle class and poor. overpopulation..which stems from a lack of family planning with regards to required income per child. the mere refusal to pay/work for something that is easy enough to take from the rich....the 'robin hood' complex....just for starters...

Brake down of the family. There is a reason that it takes 2 people to make a baby. The man and woman both have important things to add to the character of a child and when one or the other is missing the child has skewed views of life.

lol...i do not care anymore. the authentic reason is unknown because many recommendations about causes are debated. it seems to me that united statesa. doesn't opt to entice close the reality....they prefer to trust the clarification change into for nationwide safe practices, and accordingly they have the right to tear up Iraq. Crime and poverty are a bi product of capitalism. If capitalism is a "GOOD" thing, then you take the good with the bad. I know ....it sucks! But what's the alternitive?
