Logic would tell you 1 + 1 = 2 . Right?

Well...It has been proven that 1+1 in some cases can be equivalent to 3.

See: In 1 + 1 you can take away the horizontal line on the plus sign and their is 3 different ones!!!

And everyone knows that 3 of the integer 1 is 3!!! But that's not it! If you don't believe that 1 + 1= 3 then the horizontal line we took away from the plus sign will wack you repeatedly on the head and cause you great pain in the hands of an invisible man..!

This about equivalent to some of the 'provings' of the bible I have heard christians preach to people but it is just dressed up in the costume of something no1 knows the answer to: what happens after death. Sadly, that condition can make some people believe it.... :(. Hopefully some day the earth will heal of this kind of logic but I doubt it is close at hand...When do you think this type of logic will die?

1 Cor 11:6] For if a woman does not have her head veiled, she may as well have her hair cut off. But if it is shameful for a woman to have her hair cut off or her head shaved, then she should wear a veil.

Is it possible to prove that there is a God WITHOUT reference to the Bible? What arguments can people think of?
I ask this because everytime I mention the Bible, people seem to switch off, which makes any Christianity defence difficult.

Is it just because it's a rule cause they say so? Is there a reason it's more proper? Just 'cause that's how it's always been? Is it serious just a deep rooted tradition they defend for no reason besides some people a long time ago said that that's how it should be?

If that's what it is then when are the women finally going to try to put a stop to it? I mean, if you like skirts that's cool but isn't it a little condescending to say that you aren't aloud to wear pants? It just seems a little pointless and controlling to me.

So what is the root of this tradition besides that they just think that's how it should be?

Scientists have just found another missing link, a fish with muscular fins, gills AND lungs to breathe oxygen. Dozens of these creatures have been found and carbon dated to exactly the right time when that sort of creature ought to have existed.
There are literally hundreds of thousands of fossil records going back years all carbon-dated in a definite evolutionary timeline.

Are anti-evolutionists just ignoring the evidence or do they just believe it's one gigantic conspiracy?

Would the religious world decorate their churches and their homes and their bodies with gun symbols, if Jesus had been shot instead? Or would there be another symbol entirely for Christianity?

I have seen it all the time at the workplace. Women filing sexual harrassment, and it was serious business, but when a guy filed against a female co-worker, management brushed it off and pretty much laughed in his face. What do you think?

Bottom line...there's this boy at my college who is....well...."deformed" (for lack of a better term).....anyway, he's 100% mentally stable...he's not slow or anything...it's just that but his head is really long, his teeth are jagged, and his fingers are mangled...he was born that way.....but he's nice person....but he's just mad rude....he'll push his way through people without saying "excuse me," he reaches over people's food during meal hours, he doesn't hold doors open if you're a couple steps behind him...and I think people don't say anything because they try to be nice to him...but it's mad annoying when he pushes me and takes my napkins without asking...won't hold the elevator door open....little stuff like that...it sounds stupid, but it's mad annoying on a daily basis.....

Christianity is one of the main regular religions on Earth, yet Christians are not numerous in this yahoo-section.

Is it because there are much more non-christians? Why?

Please don't call me a racist or anything like that because I am not. Here is my question: Why do my friends want to feel my hair? I am black and most of my friends are white. They used to ask me if they could feel my hair because they've never felt a black person's hair before. This bothered me and it was pretty embarassing. Also, one of my best friends was messing with my hair before and when she was done she said "ew I hate feeling black people's hair!". This really hurt my feelings and now I prefer for people not to touch my hair at all.

Well, I did not know in what category the question belonged in, so I put it here. Anyway, the question is pretty self explanatory.

I have some ideas:
French movies, of course (which would you recommend).
Halloween or Christmas party with other school clubs
Fieldtrips (french restaurants, etc.)
Listen to popular french music
And perhaps even a game of "Petanque"

Any suggestions? I just want to be a good president for the club; I do not want to seem like I do not know what to do (I am supposed to suggest the activities the club will do).

With racial classification in our society. Having to mark a race on your job application as an example. Tiger Woods Amerie, Halle Berry, Heinz Ward etc. are some of the famous people who identify being mixed except Tiger. So, with that said. If you are a hapas or know of someone who is distinctly mixed. Not Puerto Rican and Mexican, but rather Korean & Black, Black & Caucasian etc. How do you identify yourself in society when the issue of race is raised? Do you identify with the stronger gene when you were born (color of your skin, facial features)? Or rather what you feel in your heart?
