Please don't call me a racist or anything like that because I am not. Here is my question: Why do my friends want to feel my hair? I am black and most of my friends are white. They used to ask me if they could feel my hair because they've never felt a black person's hair before. This bothered me and it was pretty embarassing. Also, one of my best friends was messing with my hair before and when she was done she said "ew I hate feeling black people's hair!". This really hurt my feelings and now I prefer for people not to touch my hair at all.

People like that are not your friends, obviously.

Let me make this statement for all ignoramas to hear:
THERE'S NOTHING WRONG WITH BLACK PEOPLE'S HAIR.
Maybe they can't understand anything other than hick, I dunno.

Anyway, don't let those unintelligent people hurt your feelings.
Feel sorry for them because thier white little world is all they know.

I'm assuming you have the crinklely hair that blacks sometimes have, that would be the only reason I can think of that people would want to touch it as far as race related things go. I personally have very thick, long hair so people are always messing with it, but that's not race related.
Anyway, I would just tell them no they can't touch it or say, "Only if I can touch your hair, I've never touched a white person's hair." As for the stupid comment, just ignore $hit like that.

It is a very uncomfortable feeling I know. At 57 years of age I didnt think that this happened anymore. I too had people touch my hair and rub my skin when I was a youngster. I guess we havent progressed that far after all.

It's becuase your friends are ignorant. It's probably more of a curisoity for them (not trying to say you're weird or anything) it's something they don't understand or haven't been exposed to.

They shouldn't make a big deal out of it, though, it's really rude. If i were you I'd ask to feel their hair and say something like, "is this a wig, it feels reall fake?" and then yank on it really hard...

they'll get the message.

I often get asked by people who want to feel my hair, because it is naturally pure white.

Well its kind of like petting an animal. Black people are foreign to us whites. We are the owers and you are our pets so we like to pet you. Its kind of your obligation to let us white people pet you and you should apreciate it or at least make it appear that way. You wouldnt want to make us mad and make you live on the streets.

It's so greasy and nasty. Feels like a mixture of sheep wool, pubes, and bacon grease.
