What was the origin of God. I know the bible says he is from everlasting to everlasting. the beginning and the end, alpha and omega, but that doesn't explain anything. everything has to have a beginning, even God. Nothing is just "here". it has to come from something. I've had people tell me that I shouldn't worry about stuff like that , just believe. Well, I'm not worrying about it .I'm just really curious. I've heard different explantions but no real answers.

Strangely, the Federal Government hasn't pulled any Ruby Ridge or Waco actions since the retalitation of T.M. Does that indicate we should be mindful of the actions he took making us all a bit more secure from the misdealings of the Federal Government?

Secular history books quote from it frequently. Entire continents base their laws upon it. It details the lives of people from before the time of the Egyptians. It unites ancient legends from other nations. It gives deep insights into once-mighty cultures... Or does it?
I would like to hear your favorite historical arguments for and against the Bible. A great book to read regarding this question would be "The Exodus Case", by Dr. Lennart Moller.

Please feel free to get meaningless insults out of your system. Elsewhere.
P.S.
If it is a question about dates, remember that most historians can't even agree when particular Pharaohs ruled.

When it comes to a vote on the 'best' answer, you are more likely to get a 'thumbs up' if your answer contains the words 'According to the Bible . . .'

I am in the addiction education field - teaching students who want to be drug and alcohol counselors. Lately I have noticed an increase in students who have strong beliefs that anyone who does not recognize Jesus Christ as their Savior will not be saved, i.e. going to Hell. My dilemma is that when a student refuses to participate in an activity or does not allow themselves to enter into a critical analysis without using their religious beliefs as a "get out of jail free' card. As a professor/therapist I don't know how to navigate my way around this issue...How can these students want to work with addicts/alcoholics who have lifestyles (for the most part) that are diametrically opposed to the Christian tenets? How can a 'counselor' be accepting and open-minded when their client may have other religious/spiritual beliefs? Can they really keep an open mind and open heart and believe the person they are counseling is damned. Faith based institutions are a solution- but not in this case

The only logic and rational thing they ever quote is science that they themselves did not participate in. What about the ideas and dreams that these scientists had to explore these new concepts and real truth about our world.
Here is some logic...Out of the million people that have had out of body explorations and near death experience....how many are crazy?

I mean we women did not trade on set of duties for another, We still care for the children, the home, and now we must work too. I for one would prefer if I could afford to be a stay at home wife and mother. I like doors opened for me, heavy packages carried for me, and all the deference that men in the South still show ladies.
