Just wonder why people choose to kill a child instead of give it life and find a set of parents who cannot conceive & make a happy family?

Because they are misguided by men. Who benefits from abortion? The man who doesn't have to take responsibilty for his child. Pregnancy isn't that hard, people. I've done it 4 times, and not all of them were planned. Taking the easy way out isn't always the moral thing to do. Babies born out of rape or incest are just as innocent as the rest. They didn't ask to be conceived. And it's ridiculous to say that an unborn child has no consciousness, so he isn't a person. An adult in a coma is unconsious--does that mean he's not a person either? This is to say nothing of the fact that abortion has been linked to breast cancer. Since abortion was legalized in the US, breast cancer rates have gone through the roof.

I got pregnant with my daughter while on depo provera. I was getting out of an abusive relationship and starting a new, well-paid government job. I didn't need or want another child, but that is the price I paid for having sex. Now, I can't imagine life without her.

Sex causes pregnancy. If people were a little more selective about their partners, they wouldn't think abortion was necessary.

BTW, having an abortion because it would be "too hard to give a baby up for adoption" is not only selfish, it's also the stupidest reason I've heard yet!

Why should a young girl say about 11 and older go through a traumatic experience of having a child at that age, and caused by being rapped or molested in that fact. This is what I believe if you were rapped or got pregnant in some other way that was not your choice then why go through a whole pregnancy hating the baby and rejecting the child because it was conceived out of force. Why would a women always want to remember that she had a child because she was rapped that has more emotional devestation and a women than you know. Me personally would not want to be pregnant because I was rapped no matter how old you are. It's heart breaking to see a child born in this condition and usually when a child is born this way they are not wanted because of the emtional effect it has on a child. Would you want to tell your adoptive child that his mother was rapped at 11 and, think of how the child would feel. It makes me mad that not matter the circumstance people still think that abortion is wrong. Next time people should ask how the women or girls feels being rapped and having a child that she has to give up because it would put more stress on the child for being neglected and knowing that he/she was a product of rape if kept by mother, even when adopted out the child sometimes wants to know who his/her birth mother is a if that comes around then you have to let them know it's the right thing to do, because if they go behind your back and find them it's going to be ten time more the emotional pain. I can go on and on about this but I think I said enough.

Mostly because the population of babies up for adoption is already very high, it is very possible that it wouldn't get adopted and it's life wouldn't be much better, there's also a material outlook, that once you see a living thing that you created, you are emotionally and spiritually attatched to it, and you wouldn't want to ever let go, evenif it means spinning you and your child into poverty. looking at a new born child that is yours can cloud your judgement on how great of a life you could give it. Adoption is a wonderful idea, it's just that I wish that more people would adopt the children.

Because they are young and afraid for themselves and the potential child. Because they are older and in a bad relationship. Because they are struggling with the children they already have. Because they fear what may become of their life with a child in it. Because they would endanger their own life by continuing the pregnancy. Because they suffered a great deal with an earlier pregnancy. Because the timing is wrong. Because they don't want to have a child adopted. For many many reasons, more than these.

It is so easy to judge and call others selfish. The women making these very difficult choices are aware of how close to impossible it would be to have a baby and then give it away, because it won't be an 'it' it will be their little girl or boy.

Pregnancy is very physically and emotionally demanding, and many women don't want to go through it. There is also the cost: prenatal care and the hospital birth can cost more than $3,000 dollars, which is a huge amount even to those who want to keep the child.

There is no shortage of children who need homes, but there is a huge shortage of people willing to adopt at all, and most of those who are are only looking for healthy white children. The chances of a baby getting adopted are very small.

That is an excellent question. Here is another question... Why do single teenage girls decide to parent their child when they do choose life for their child? Adoption is a very loving alternative which needs more positive PR. Teen girls think they are going to have an awesome time with an adorable newborn who gives them total love and adoration. They don't take into account the financial strain, the emotional frustrations, etc. etc. I'm so glad some girls are choosing life...now they need to think about adoption.

You're not killing a child. A child has a consciousness.

It's more expensive to keep a fetus to term than to shelve out the $500 for an abortion. The government doesn't pay for womens' pregnancies. Besides, it's been proven that the hormones released during pregnancy cause neural damage to the woman, so that adds to the cost of being pregnant.

I think women decide to do it perhaps because it is an immediate solution and they won't have to carry the child anymore. Also some probably do it for fear of someone finding out they are pregnant.

Well because most people who know their facts know that it isn't a life yet. It has no perceptions of it's surroundings or of life, it is about the same thing as using spermicide in terms of losing a life. Some women just made one mistake and don't want to go through the whole pregnancy/labor process, it can be damaging to your reputation as a person too if you're not married or in a steady relationship. It can just cause a lot of problems that don't need to happen, and again, to a lot of people it really is about the same as using spermicide.

I heard about a child that was adopted and know what? His adoptive mother was abusive and one day, she beat him so severely that his intestines ruptured and he died. Now, would it have been better to just nip it in the bud before he had a fully formed brain, or allowing him to suffer in an abusive home for years?
